Don't understand! Wasn't he suppose to be working? The chap that chose him on his team said Wexford will be to busy for sightseeing yet that is all he did!

This is the second time I have tried to watch this. Both times I gave up. Waaaaay too strange.😊

I enjoy these episodes. Sometimes a little long for the story line, but still top notch entertainment

I'd never have known about this series - although I probably read some of the books way back when I was a child in Hampshire - where the series is located...actually, penny just dropped - the psycho sexual content would have had Rendell censored and banned ... along with Bunty and Judy, rofl!

A fabulous variety of home residence location shots in this episode; from the obviously very well to do, to the lower middle class digs, the span of societal living conditions made for an additional component to observe and reflect upon....

I was going to give up watching this one, it was nearly 30 minutes in China, but Wexford and his Chinese tour guide became very entertaining and I got hooked. It also made me laugh about drinking too much green tea, I'll stick to Yorkshire Gold Blend thank you.

I’m another very pleased viewer of inspector Wexford :The speaker of Mandarin episode ( from Australia)
The scenes filmed in Beijing were so reflective of my time in that city in
1985 and 1987 the way the story
unfolded gave it an accuracy and in
H K and England as well . But that aside
the way the characters are so subtly developed with believable skills, egos ,loyalties, weaknesses or lost hopes is always engaging with a Wexford story.
What I particularly appreciate is unlike most U S detective shows a Wexford storyline is built very quietly and there’s also a welcome shortage of car smashes , buildings on fire or shoot outs

Paul Goddard I cannot thank you enough for making these episodes available. Fantastic! I have been making my way through from season 1. For the life of me I cannot understand why they are not in syndication like some other classics of British TV.

Just watched it again. I still didn't figure it out. I was slightly annoyed with the mysticism and Reg's dreams. I liked this better than The Veiled One, which was for me a total failure and total rubbish. This had a story.

July 2022 still rocking Wexford cheers

Kinda esoteric for Wexford. The actress who played the actress had quite a distinguished career, including playing Joy Adamson in Born Free.
