I actuality went the other way . Just broke free from Apple's walled garden. I do miss several things but love the open source and customization of Android and Windows. As you mentioned the gap is getting smaller and I'm hopeful for the future. Another great video, keep up the good work
ОтветитьMacBook for sure. Performance and dependability.
ОтветитьI can never get used to how terrible Finder and multitasking windows are on Mac. It's an absolute dealbreaker, and I'm saying this while typing this on my MacBook lmao... I won't be going back if I ever get a decent Windows laptop.
ОтветитьI am a computer repair guy for over 40 years. I love my Mac customers for their never-ending generosity on terrible engineered equipment. Personally, I would use a Chrome Book before a Mac. And I don't use them Very few Mac users do any similar work to you guys.
ОтветитьI would rather use a base M1 MacBook Air than ANY Flagship Windows Laptop...... Simply put, Windows Blows...in the end it's all about the OS experience. Gaming?... I have a PlayStation for Gaming.
ОтветитьOne reason for me to stick with Windows based laptops is the option for a num pad. It's nice to have when you are working with Excel or accountancy software. Also if you want to run Linux, AMD or Intel based laptops still are the better solution.
ОтветитьOnce again people are confusing hardware and software. You pick the software you need first and then decide on the hardware. If you need to use Final Cut Pro then you have to run it on a Mac for example. If you only run Microsoft Office then buy a Windows laptop, because the latest version will always released to Windows first.
ОтветитьIt's actually pretty funny how everyone says how much worse PC Laptops are on battery life when AMD has had great Chips in the last 2 years that come very close to the efficency of the M1 Pro and M2 Pro in multicore (6800U and 7840U). But then again you can't blame em as the availability of high end laptops with AMD is very bad. Thankfully Intel finally caught up. We gotta appreciate Apple entering the space to give a wake up call to the PC Chip makers, ESPECIALLY Intel.
ОтветитьMacs, all day.
ОтветитьI'm all in on convertible laptops which makes macbooks a non starter 😅
ОтветитьI still have my Dell XPS 9700 with a 4K screen, and a RTX2060, and I'm still really happy with it! I upgraded to 64GBytes of RAM and 8TBytes of SSD storage.
ОтветитьI'd choose windows and linux everytime.. there are programs that I use that are not in macos
ОтветитьSuch a waste of time. Only platitudes...
ОтветитьI want a mac, but the college im going to teaches to windows sooo, framework it is
ОтветитьNot sure if the mac os is the best os… but macbook is certainly the best laptop 😏
ОтветитьGreat review, BUT, you really did not point out (enough) that with Parallels allows you to run just about all Windows apps on a Macbook and FAST too. Like you, I have multiple Windows laptops and a M2Pro Macbook. The Macbook is clearly better in every way, except I can't write on the screen with a stylus.,
ОтветитьI don't care how good apple products are, but their "notches" are a joke.
ОтветитьI switched to Linux from Mac Studio (and I'm still adapting to it), haven't used Windows since 2007 (and not planning to) and I use Macbook Pro as its simply the best laptop for my work.
ОтветитьSince I've got a Galaxy phone and a Galaxy tablet, it would have to be the Windows rig. Apple just doesn't play nicely with Android.
Ответить“…top notch” as you open the laptop with the notch glaring at me…
ОтветитьI bought a MacBook Air 2 two yars ago after have being used Windows all my life. There are some good things in the using the mac... but in general I think Windows is still better.
ОтветитьAbout value: not true for every mac, the M1 macbook air or mac mini beat close to every windows laptop in terms of value.
ОтветитьFYI: In most laptops that are not specifically designed for gaming you actually cannot upgrade the RAM. Including this Zenbook in which you can only upgrade storage (which is something most people won't need to do - just use a cloud-service or an external SSD)
ОтветитьI prefer Wimdows. Apple is too closed system and lacks versatility
ОтветитьIf only windows laptop had a similar battery life and performance/battery I would have never bought a single apple product.
ОтветитьNo matter what apple does in the future embrace your 15% market share maybe some pink macbooks with sparkles.
ОтветитьI'm a retired developer, FWIW. I bought an Asus CX34 Chromebook Plus recently for £245 and I'm in laptop heaven. Before that I ran ChromeOS Flex on an old laptop that my son used at uni.
ОтветитьThe quality, reliability and battery life of Mac is unmatched in the Windows world.

ОтветитьIf you're smart and understand value, then an entry level MacBook Air is an amazing device. But if you want a prosumer grade machine, then I'll never even think of buying apple.
I currently have a base model M1 Macbook Air and it's such an amazing device, it lasts like a week on single charge and does very well with light apps, browsing, docs, life management, journaling, watching TV Shows, etc . While for work I have a dedicated PC
I love Windows so much more. I am running Windows 11pro on a laptop and I like its functionality. Like the snapping of screen splits.
Apple: Using an external drive is so difficult to set up and I always need to connect to my NAS manually.
I own a zenbook 14x, the reviews said it was great, but in my experience, the laptop had only 3 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE. Unfortunately i can't return anymore, so yay, I'm stuck now...
ОтветитьDebian 12 the goat
ОтветитьMacBook air M2 for Netflix and light browsing and HP firefly g10 with i7-1360P for VMs and other IT related work.
Battery life is def. way better on Macs for sure and display for movies, the rest is windows for me.
I'm a Windows guy. Never had an Apple, likely never will. But thank fvcking god Apple exists. If you think Microsoft and Intel are evil now, imagine how bad without Apple around.
Ответитьduck apple and its ecosystem
ОтветитьWill the M2 macbook air beat the zenbook 14 oled in video editing in resolve?
ОтветитьGalaxy book 4 review pls 😊
ОтветитьMac all day. I may have both but my m1 mbp runs VS code smoothly and without crashing. Windows its un-usable. It freezes a few secs upon opening. Not only that, windows runs better on my mbp through a VM. Its pathetic how bad windows has fallen.
Ответитьif your a creator or have many apple products use mac everybody else use windows
ОтветитьMacs would be awesome if they were fairly priced and didn't run a useless OS.
ОтветитьWindows is better but Apple win with billions of advertisings everywhere😅
ОтветитьHey Tom! Big fan! I was actually wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing the Asus ZenBook PRO 14 OLED. I know it's an "older" model but I'd love your take on it vs a MacBook for a creator looking for the best portability. I'd really appreciate your thoughts! Thank you and keep up the awesome work!
Ответитьpaid promotion.
ОтветитьThe only issue is the Apple can do video editing. The arc integrated graphics can't do video editing, unless you want to wait three times more for render times.
ОтветитьObviously Mac book pro either m1 max 16 inch or m2 16 inch with $300 in my name 😂🎉😅
ОтветитьSolid Video ,I Use Arch BTW ,use old ThinkPads and they Brilliant
Ответитьgreat review, I have both mac and PC, I would love someone to do a comparison of the 2 laptops seen here running premiere pro, with timeline scrubbing. Not render times.
Ответить
