All right! Been wanting to do an indie game rec video for awhile, so here it is finally. Hopefully there is something in here that is new to you and that you really enjoy. If not, I am sorry that I failed you.

Oh, that is interesting. Most of the time, when there's a silent protagonist, they CAN speak, it's just usually a) during a dialogue decision, or b) someone else pulls the old "What's that you say?" and repeats what the protagonist is implied to have said. Here, we have a narrative reason for the protagonist to be silent.

The fact that this video was 2 years ago, and to this day we’re still talking about Silksong? That just hurts..

Momodora sounds intriguing from your description, but what has me hooked is its adorable art style

The Sexy Brutale, Ape Out and Yoku's Island Express are all fantastic. I would also HIGHLY recommend them.

There's this really cool indie game I play a lot, it isn't very popular but it's great! It's called Minecraft, totally worth it.

I sometimes wonder why you don't show your face online - even though it's obviously nobody's business if you don't wanna share it, or generally a big deal at all.

You have quite an iconic "avatar" anyways though, so I guess at this point I don't even know if it might do more harm than good to do a face reveal lol.

Love it when I watch a video like this, go to Steam to wishlist a game, can't figure out where the wishlist button is, and then realize it's not there because the game is already in my library and I don't even know how I came to own it...

I'm glad to see CrossCode getting some love. It has always surprised me how few people have actually played it. :(

Another game everyone should play: Superliminal! It's just awesome! Even if you don't like it, it takes about 2 hours for the story! Give it a chance!

For those who enjoy Crosscode I would recommend Unsighted. It's more Zelda/ Metroidvania and is really fun.

I hecking loved crosscode, very underrated game

Imho Vagante is the best indie game nobody talks about (my all time top games). Its a spelunky like but more rpg elements. Roguelite with very little permanent progress. So so so good.

Crosscode is very good, and I do recommend it, but I found the puzzles to be a bit excessive. It reminded me a lot of Alundra, a game I have mixed feelings about for the same reason. They're not super difficult or anything, but they're by no means easy, and they are very time consuming. After a while I just felt myself hoping that I was finally done with a dungeon, only to find out that no, there's yet another puzzle room after this one.... And another one after that.... And... well, you get the idea. And those are just the required puzzles. There are tons of optional puzzles too.

You may say what you want, but I think we are living in a gaming renaissance now. It may not be obvious, if you just look at AAA titles, but come on... Hades was considered a game of the year for many, and it was done by a really small studio, compared to some giants.
The only ownside is, that because there are so many good indie games, you can't really discuss them with your friends, as they probably have played something else :P
Instead of spending 70 USD on a game and then being guilt tripped into playing it for hours, you can spend 10-20 USD on an indie one, be done with it in 20h, and you can play another one, which is completely different, but equally as fun.
Even if I don't like one - hey, at least it was cheap.

I've been playing Wildermyth for a while now and it is annoying how attached I get to the characters. As in, I get into existential crises when I finish a campaign knowing I will be the only one to know these characters in the way I do...

Please play Wildermyth if you are at all into story-based tabletop games, character-driven stories, or just have a bunch of OCs lying around who you want to go on a fantasy adventure together. It's my favorite game ever.

However, I would like to recommend Copy Kitty! If you liked the power combining in Kirby 64 then you'll love it

Oh I loved Momodora! It was so fun, engaging yet relaxed to play it! I didnt found it quite as challenging or frustrating than some other Metrovanias.

Jesus, you 100%'d Momodora IV?! That game's achievements are BASTARDS! Not the typical "Grind up 100,000 money" type achievements, but ones like "Beat the game without killing a single non-boss enemy" or "Beat the game without dying once" (literally two of them)! Bet you can't wait for Moonlit Farewell, though.
