Pls: Is there AN UPDATE on this in 2023?! What additional stuff would I need to buy, at minimum level, if I want to connect my existing old KORG 250 Keyboard ( that has only only MIDI IN / MIDI OUT) with my IPAD PRO 12,9 " ( 2018) that has USB C already built in.. ?!
I also have a MIDI IN/Out to USB-C Adapter from amazon.. Will that be sufficient to record my Keyboard on Garage Band, hearing BOTH sound from the KORG Keyboard ( coming then directly, solely from the keyboard speakers) together with recorded INSTRUMENTS coming from Garage Band, Korg Module..?
The Keyboard during that session would be of course on and connected with IPAD via MIDI cables..?! As my understanding is now, I would ONLY need additional equpiment, if I would want to hear the sound of the keyboard coming from the IPAD speakers instead, recorded as AUDIO, for hearing it then, when my Keyboard is shut off, right? What other stuff do I nead, additionaly for this to work, the cheapest solution with amazon links would be very welcomed.. ;-)! ( also the links on amazon are all sold out/ not working anymore..Are there better USB C products, now or no need for it, at all..? Am I totally missing something?)

So if I have a keyboard without MIDI ports, just USB to host (USB-B) and I want to use that as a controller for a keyboard that has MIDI ports - will the adapter cable you mention work in that direction as well? I have a different brand of the same kind of cable and I tried getting that to work without much success (wasn't sure if that cable should work in both directions)

Good Video and I’m glad that you had made this video because I’m a Beginner my small set up includes a MacBook Pro 💻, a 4Port Hub a M-Audio MK3 Key Station midi controller that has usb & 1 Midi output & yesterday I had got my Akai MPD218 midi controller that has a USB connection a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Generation audio interface a pair of Sony MDR-7506 headphones 🎧 a Rod pod mic & a pair of Silver Rokit KRK monitors. After looking at your video I’m going to end up ordering the Roland Um-one mk2 cords specifically to use with a external MIDI Sound Module like The Roland JV-1080 which has the MIDI in & Midi out connection which I will end up buying off of EBay or Guitar 🎸 Center. My question to you is how do I connect my USB midi controller that has a MIDI out with my Akai MPD218 USB Pad midi Controller ? My guess is to connect both to my 4port hub that is connected to my MacBook Pro 💻 Mid 2012 that’s my guess but I need to know how I can get the sounds loaded into my keyboard 🎹 controller & my Akai MPD218 USB midi Pad controller? Cause I’m thinking about starting out with Ableton live lite since it comes free with both of my midi controllers & not only that I don’t want to use Akai’s MPC Beats Software that comes with their controller simply because Ableton is the better & easier program to learn do you agree? I have a MIDI keyboard connected to my iMac. It was not registering sound in Logic Pro X so I called Sweetwater where I bought it and they took over my computer with my permission and it worked. It seems I had not selected the right setting when opening a new project. I selected audio instead of software instrument. But when I opened a new project and selected software instrument, I still got no sound and it doesn't register in Logic Pro either. I've spent hours on hold and then hours searching for an answer to the problem, I can't figure it out. I'm really getting tired.

Hello! I have an Akai Pro MPC key 61 and I’m trying to route the midi cord from my keyboard through my interface (Focusrite 4i4). I can’t get any sound to come from the keyboard however.

Do I need 2 midi cables—one each for the IN and OUT port to run from my keyboard to the interface, or just the 1 going from the keyboard OUT to the interface IN?

Hi there! your tutorials are awesome. I bought the Roland UM-ONE MK2. I connected the Midi In to Midi Out on my keyboard. I followed the connection diagram on your article. I downloaded the driver previously. I open Chordie App and it doesn't receive any input from my keyboard. I selected UM-ONE on the Midi Input Menu. I plugged in a midi controller with a usb cable and worked right away with the app. I don't understand what I did wrong

So here my question (sorry if it sounds stupid): If I connect my synths to a controler (Roland Fantom), it should be enough for me to connect the MIDI/USB from the controler into the interface and from the interface to the computer (using the DAW as a mixer) and then the audio from all keyboards into the interface to the speakers? I just bought my Fantom and next step is the DAW (most likely Logic). I have never used an interface and I'm afraid my old school ways of doing things (way back in the 80s and 90s) is not how things are done today. So I am a little bit confused.

I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch and I am connecting my nectar impact lx 61 with it on battery so in near future will it going to harm my battery?? because my midi is working on the battery should I go for power hub but also there is no socket of external power hub or external adopter in the nector impact lx 61+.. please help.

Solution for connecting Roland Fantom-0 synth to iPad Pro 2021 (USB-C):
1. Plug bluetooth midi adapter into the MIDI IN and MIDO OUT ports and pair with the iPad.
2. Plug USB-C to 3.5mm stereo (or mono) cable into L/MONO input port on Fantom-0 using a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch adapter. I used a Hyper++Drive 9 port hub for this with the USB-C cable plugged directly into my iPad Pro.
3. Go to “Effects Edit” on the Fantom menu and, in the OUTPUTS tab, route both the main and sub to MAIN+SUB.
4. Still in the Effects Edit menu, ensure AUDIO IN is selected by touching the tab at the bottom. A blue bar will appear at the top of that tab.
This worked for me anyway.

getting a KORG micro, and have a focusrite- problem is I lost Garageband on my mac OS 10.13.6 sierra. i think i downloaded Big Sur successfully. When signed into 'My App" Cannot find my 'my face' on the bottom left. (on newer macs) I'm signed in. I read that from there, i can access and earlier version of Garageband? OR what free software/ DAW can i use with my Korg microKorg ? thanks in advance!
