Cars drive fine. You just dont like the physics. You prefer the easy arcade style which is empty of any excitement.

It makes me happy so many love this game and consider it best of the series

Don't know why everyone rags about gta 4 driving mechanics. You must be just bad at the game. The cars in gta 4 had weight to them & felt like proper cars. Gta 5 every car felt the same. Unrealistic mechanics and felt like they were on ice most of the time. Gta 4 most of the cars were old cars bangers and they felt like that, it made any super car feel like a super car.

Best gta game by far needs a remaster but probably won’t happen with gta 6 coming in 2025

SERBIAN. ugh...I don't blame americans for not knowing about the Balkan regions but one of the first lines in the games is how Niko complains that Roman has forgotten Serbian, their native language. Serbia's an Ex-Yugoslav country, don't need to take a history lesson but after the USSR fell, Yugoslavia, which is nowadays the entire Balkan region, fell into an age of warring that only somewhat recently ended. They've paid an incredibly amount of detail to Balkan rivalries for example when you start fighting off Albanian loan sharks, Albania being one of the countries in the Balkans that Serbia was at war with.

Ultimately tho, nice work man. I fucking love GTAIV cos the writing on V is just....garbage....not 100%, still had some pretty good moments but my god

The driving in GTA IV isn't bad at all. I don't know why it's either love or hate with that. I hated it at first, but the driving is designed to work with the missions in the game. U have to control the vehicles properly. Each vehicle has to be handled for what it is, not everything is a super car. I love the realism in this game.

I played this for the first time in summer of 2022. And I loved this game. Sure, gameplay is all about shooting in some warehouses, riding from point to point and so on. But the story, atmosphere, characters made me love every second of it. I know "Let's go bowling" became a meme, but I really enjoyed those side activities. Great game - 2008 at it's finest.

GTA IV will alwys be my favorite gta it will alwys have my heart ill never forget my first time playing it at a Friend's house back in 08 I was in the 4th grade and the first thing I wanted to do was shot an npc through the glass as said npc was sitting inside the vehicle the whole bullet holes showing up on the side of vehicle shooting npc through glass and the blood getting all over the wind shield that was mind blowing to me and weren't the car explosions just the best I still think GTA IV has had the best explosion animations ever and yes i loved the story alwys have i really felt like i was part of a criminal underworld meeting all sorts of characters from different ethnicities given newy York city massive culture of different types of races was i thought pretty well shown in GTA IV liberty city

Just got the steam deck and I got GTA Iv stories of liberty city. And I have over 100 hours of play time on it. One of the best games ever made.

The driving is the best part about the whole game

Its kind of funny that you dislike the driving so much, and I still think GTA IV have the absolute best driving physics. I booted it up a few weeks ago on Xbox series x (hey, 60 fps now and thats cool for what it is) anyhow I just have so much fun driving around.

Sure, maybe had smoked something something during but even totally sober the driving is fantastic and I want more games to have it. And as you said the story is really good. The expansions too.

I've always loved 4 more than 5. The story and the setting is much darker, more gritty. 5 has better gameplay, but I would take 4 any day of the week.

I thought it was as dull as hell first time I played it in 2008. Then over the years after a couple of play throughs it became a favourite - great soundtrack, well written (and very funny) dialogue, I just loved it.
