There is so much OVER hype about the new 15-inch Macbook Air that one must think there is no other computer that compares. I disagree. People have likes and dislikes. I have had in my possession the Macbook 13, 15, and 16 I have owned the Air and the Pro and they are all different. So which Mac do I prefer and use. I use the shunned Macbook Pro M2 with the old-school touch bar. I love this computer and for me, it fits. I like the 13-inch size and I love the battery life I love the touchbar even though many people don't. Just saying it's all personal. The benchmarks for me are irrelevant. Email, Office, Whats app, Google Drive, my older 2012 handles my needs on this sort of usage. I take my pro m2 and it's good for two days.
ОтветитьWould a 15 inch MBA with 16gb/512 outperform a 2016 MBP with same spec? (and is the screen on the MBA better than the antiglare version of the old MBP?)
ОтветитьIt's so interesting because the footprint barely feels bigger, but the screen feels HUGE
ОтветитьSomething is wrong the keyboard on this is weirded it’s not the same as m2 air 13inch or even m1 air and not even comparable to MacBook pro’s keyboard it’s totally different and not good actually I bought it online thinking it would be same but it’s not it’s quite different and I will say way worse than any MacBook keyboard I have ever used. M2 air has the same thickness why couldn’t they fit the same keyboard.
ОтветитьDoes this laptop colour leaves finger marks as well?
ОтветитьCan I get your old one 😂
ОтветитьI've got the 13 inch and 15 inch air. I bought the latter as I wanted the screen size upgrade, but it feels substantially less portable. I actually prefer the 13 inch.
Ответитьi am getting the M2 Mac Pro super exited for it fully maxed out not just for me 2 others for my family and one as a server so alot of them as well as 16 inch maxed out pro and 15 air fully maxed same with the ipad iphone and apple watch getting everything in the eco system for the whole family
ОтветитьHey great video i wish you also included info about the ports in your comparison i had to go to the Apple site to get that stuff.
ОтветитьI would not sacrifice all the good things that are available in the 16" MacBook Pro. This machine is clearly not for me.
ОтветитьI've never heard the speakers on a MacBook Pro. That being said. I was blown away by my MacBook Air 15's sound. It sounds really good.
ОтветитьWonder if they will ever make a 17” laptop again?
ОтветитьI am on my 2nd year of graduate school with my 2017 Mac air 13". The most taxing thing I do is have Spotify running while doing word documents with google tabs open or running fairly large excels spreadsheets. Is the performance of this worth the upgrade?
ОтветитьHonestly for the price of the 15" Air I'd simply go for the 14" Pro with a way better screen and speakers...
Ответить????
ОтветитьAm literally confused should I go for macbook pro M1 14 inch or Macbook Air m2 15 inch.
ОтветитьeMotions ;D
ОтветитьDo the comparison Luke!🙏🏻
Ответитьwhat with the ouuuuuuu
Ответить(answering the title) yes!
ОтветитьNew MacBook Laptops with 3yr lifespan on non-replaceable keypads, repair cost 50% of original purchases price 🤑🤕🍋
ОтветитьYour video is really good! Thanks for sharing😃
ОтветитьMe and luke waiting for apple silicon in 2020 with a 15 inch Mac release
But it was 3 years 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Damn adorable.
ОтветитьI dont like the mirror screen of apple products
ОтветитьHey tech enthusiasts I was thinking of getting the m2 model either in the 13"or the 15" version... wich one should i get? and will i be able to get away with getting the base model of the laptop (8gb/256gb)
ОтветитьI was between this $1,500 MBA 15" vs $1,400(open box) Base M1 MBP 16". I ended up getting the M1 MBP 16.
ОтветитьPerfect? No. A gazillion tiny and less tiny things. Speaker position (we want a wider keyboard), trackpad too big, notch, just a rectangular screen please, ports, no USB-A, too few C, too thin, did you try to sit on it on the couch? Thickness was never a issue for like 20 years of macbooking. Glossy screen, key-corner stains on the display (probably never gets solved), but worst of all a totally gone-overboard obnoxious looking OS you can't swap for Windows or Linux. And not to mention EU pricing on the book and its upgrades.
ОтветитьGot both! After a year working remotely with 16in MBP M1 and traveling around the world, I sprung for the 15in MBA base model. Instead of planning my vacations working strictly from my hotel room due to the size of the MBP 16, I can now travel around the city and chill at the beach, cafe, and pool! At the time I bought it, was the only way to get the bigger screen which I need for my work
Ответитьi think i might have found the perfect substitute to my 2015 macbook pro 15". only worry i have is about the fanless design, think it might overheat
ОтветитьIt's like the perfect succesor of the integrated graphics retina macbook pro 15
ОтветитьApple has done such an awesome job with their Apple Silicon lineup. The only downside for me is the M1 is just so dang good I can't justify jumping ship from my M1 MacBook Air yet(plus I tend to keep my computers until they break or don't fulfill their purpose anymore), and this thing will probably still be a solid computer for several years to come! Whenever I do decide to refresh, I am and am not looking forward to it because there will be so many great models to choose from. 😅
ОтветитьI'm watching this video on a 15" M2 MBA. I really like it a lot. So far I haven't had ANY problems with slowdown, but I haven't pushed it - just every day usage. I LOVE the size of the screen. I did upgrade the RAM to 16GB to reduce need for swap on the SSD. Instead of upgrading SSD size, I bought a USB4 enclosure and 2TB Gen 4 SSD that actually reads and writes faster than the included SSD. So for about the price to upgrade from 256 to 512, I added 2TB. Yes, it's external, but it is there if I need it. The sound is great for a laptop. It's extremely snappy, the trackpad is great, and I'm really happy that I bought it. Typing with it in my lap while on vacation - just light, powerful, nice.
ОтветитьThere is no perfect macbook. Only the right macbook for your needs and budget.
ОтветитьOh, but how is it outside? is 500 nit brightness good to use under the sun or do I need that macbook pro 14 inch to be able to use it outside? and what about the screen isn't it LCD screen? that pretty bad even if they have some fancy true tone. I am aiming to get one soon, but want to be able to use it outside. The monitor on this desktop that I am using is a VA and the screen I have on tablet is amolod display and it only cost me around $600. I would like it to to at least not be wash up and be able to look at it from different views at least better than an LCD with TA panel and better than LCD IPS. is the macbook pro 14.2 inch heavy for using it portably or no? the price is a bit to much, but that mini LED it uses sound like it is better than LCD with IPS, but I do like having way more battery life. Oh, man this is hard to pick.
ОтветитьI was looking at upgrading from my 13inch MacBook Air M1 to one with a larger display, in the UK the 15inch MBA M2 is £1399 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Storage, on CEX in the UK I found a 16inch MacBook Pro M1 Pro with double the storage and RAM for £1499 ... it was a no brainer to buy used.
ОтветитьSo I pulled the trigger and bought the 15" MBA in starlight BRAND NEW (my first apple computer I bought directly from apple brand new) I am upgrading from a 2015 15" MBP i7 so this is a big step up and I am excited
Ответитьnao-OA-an ako kay kuya...
ОтветитьNo 2nd external Display määäh
ОтветитьI just ordered my first ever MacBook and it’s this one. Really excited!
ОтветитьI am wanting to get my first MacBook Air. And I was wondering if the video graphics card uses shared memory with the Ram like a windows PC does?
ОтветитьYes! Comparison of all please!
ОтветитьI've said a long time "I want my 2010 MacBook Pro 13, but with new internals, better screen, better trackpad, and modern ports, and better battery life", and the MacBook Pro 14 is just that and so much more. its an incredible device and although the air 15 is really nice, that compact with ports is more important to me than a bigger screen but slim and few ports. imo, the MacBook Pro 14 is the best laptop apple has ever made hands down. the MacBook Air 15 may be a better deal for most people at launch price, but as a cohesive package of usability, and market price drops, the MacBook Pro 14 is where its at imo.
I have a 2013 MacBook Pro 15 and a 2019 xps 13 and the MacBook Pro 14 is literally the perfect combination of both those devices in every single aspect aside from dual booting windows, and upgradability although it would probably still have better performance and and maybe even better battery life running windows in parallels than my xps 13 or MacBook Pro 15 lol
I currently have a "beater" 2013 MacBook Pro 15 and 2019 xps 13. the ops is basically fully loaded at 16gb and 512gb which is the same spec my MacBook Pro 15 is, however I like using the older MacBook Pro better because of the more comfortable keyboard, better trackpad, bigger screen, and the larger palm wrests.
although the MacBook Air 15 with improve many aspects and mostly be the best of both worlds to replace both my Mac and my xps, there are a few downsides.
1. it cant charge from both sids, and it has less ports than my xps, even when using a type c port for charging, its missing micro sd while the 14 has the same type c ports, plus full size sd, plus hdmi, plus MagSafe. and not only that, but unlike the air 15, it can be charged from both sides through type c like my xps while having MagSafe like my MacBook.
2. its very similar In weight and and yes the MacBook Air 15 is 1.1 lbs lighter than my 15 inch MacBook Pro and its much thinner, the MacBook Pro 14 is physically a smaller footprint and I've noticed with carrying the computer thet yeah a thin laptop is portable, but it also isn't as "secure", and its more likely to bounce around in a bag unless it is slid in-between some books or something. its just a small thing I've noticed with my xps 13 while traveling, even though its better than traveling with my 15.
in conclusion, for me, the MacBook Pro 14 is literally the best of both worlds. its got a better and bigger screen than my xps, it has ports like my 15 inch MacBook Pro while having new ports like my xps, and it can charge from both sizes like my xps and use MagSafe like my MacBook, it has a better trackpad then both, it has a significantly better screen then both, better battery life then both, its more comfortable to use on a daily basis then my xps and its better for traveling then my MacBook Pro. sure its not going to be as slim, light, and portable for travel then my xps, or as comfortable to use every day than my MacBook because of the smaller screen size and therefore smaller palm wrest, but it seems like the perfect combination of both since it is still slightly smaller in dimensions to my original 2010 MacBook Pro 13 which never had a problem comfortably typing on and using.
the MacBook Pro 14 is the perfect combination of performance, user enjoyment, portability, content consumption, and convenience. some laptops may be better in specific ways, but nothing does everything so well or even as close to as well as the 14 inch MacBook Pro
what about the display thought? Am I going to feel like I'm losing out compared to my 2020 MBP?
ОтветитьIf the SSD and RAM would be user replaceable this would be the worlds best laptop, but I'll pass, thanks. I won't pay 5 times more for an 1TB SSD, if I want to go high speed SSD, an M.2 SSD with 7000MB/s read and write speeds still half the price of a 1 TB upgrade. Joke 😂 8/256 🤣🤣
ОтветитьOh man, you've been in this business for so long. And with this review it really comes across, how excited you are for this so long awaited product. Great work as always.
