Ah, ye olden days. Twisted image was played in some sideboards for spellskite and hierarch. Noble hierarch was like $70 and spellskite was $10 to $20
ОтветитьMake the modern versions of theses decks
ОтветитьWhere did Jamin get his sleeves 👀
ОтветитьIm really confused why Carl floated his white source for no reason during game two?
Ответитьbeautiful cards, i like both decks
Ответитьmodern has never recovered from these decks being banned
ОтветитьGod I miss this modern. You used to have to be so aware of what your opponent could have while nowadays I feel like the line of play is to just always jam your best card without regard for what your opponent has
ОтветитьI'd love to see modern unbans
ОтветитьYo, no lie, Carl's jacket is 🔥🔥🔥. Drip is on point today
ОтветитьWhat is the music playing around 7mins? It’s an absolute banger!!
ОтветитьDon't worry, play "snappy"
ОтветитьI really liked watching this. As a newerish player who didn't even know what modern really was till like 2021, this was so cool to see a glimpse into the past with card combos that get talked about at the edh pods I play at the kitchen table with the oldheads hahahah.
ОтветитьDamn, modern now is amazing. Maybe the best it’s ever been, if this is the golden age, there were some ok decks and a few archetypes, now there are like 30 archetypes that all have a ton of jnteraction or ways of winning the game at a super high skill ceiling
ОтветитьSo close to see someone losing to a pact and Bloodmoon!
ОтветитьBest two hosts hands down :D
ОтветитьI miss those times 😢
ОтветитьWhere can I find a list of the songs you use in videos?
ОтветитьWhy didn't jamin dispel the abrupt decay in game 1, wouldn't he have won the game
ОтветитьThese are slower than my casual decks
ОтветитьIt was a great time in modern because Jeskai Control won the pro tour, Infect was scary, Storm sometimes had free wins, and Tron was the bane of all midrange players. The meta was more fun with Deathrite Shaman around to keep fair strategies like Jund powerful. Around this time, Affinity was busted in game 1 with roughly 70% winrate, and then it was close in game 2 and 3.
ОтветитьI may have missed something but game one couldn’t that last Abrupt Decay been Dispelled for the win?
ОтветитьGame 3 if u bounce linvala instead of birthing pod, he cant replay linvala and u have splinter twin in hand, but who am I kidding he has two slaughter pact anyways
ОтветитьWould love to see a video with both these cards unbanned in the current modern
ОтветитьSpell pierce was an underrated card back in the days
ОтветитьDon't wanna offend anybody, but it's a shame you didn't have better players piloting these amazing decks.
ОтветитьWe all know that Modern has gotten super pushed recently. I think it would be fun to see some modern Modern decks against some pre-FIRE Design Legacy decks and see which are stronger.
ОтветитьPod was so good! Fun deck, super clean and flexible, very interactable.
Twin was an absolute cancer upon the format though, stay banned forever, low-skill non-interactive trash.
if he had played deciever into remand instead of just remand he would have won so easily and sideboarding blood moon on the draw against a deck with 8 mana dorks is terrible.
ОтветитьI'd love to see these classics with newer card upgrades!
ОтветитьAwesome games! This is a huge throwback for me because I played both of these decks religiously and it was nice to see them played again. Here's to hoping they have their time in the sun once again!
Ответитьnext time wotc releases precon decks you guys should make a tournament of them. for example, if there were uw, ur, rg, bw decks, play uw vs ur, and rg vs bw and then winning decks there face off against each other. i would watch all 3 resulting videos like 20 times
ОтветитьJamin got fleeced. Splinter Twin could sideboard into a control deck as needed with long forgotten cards like Keranos, God of Storms and the like.
ОтветитьUnban twin!
Ответитьyou lost a ton of playability when you abbreviated the card functions as single word names, its much better keep them as what they do, not as a rule name
ОтветитьMakes me shed a tear, I miss when matchups were decided by player skill (as exhibited here), as opposed to how many pitch elementals I can cast over my opponent, or asking my opponent if they can kill my two mana 6/6 flyers.
ОтветитьPilot ID is 5P0L4D, platform is android. Your name was BLINK!
ОтветитьThat was a great match and a good showcase of the cards from each deck too.
ОтветитьGood clean gameplay very nice!
ОтветитьI love the gameplay videos with you two and toralf, great work at always!
ОтветитьCarl's self awareness is special "this makes great content" 🤣
ОтветитьJamin used too much brain juice in game 2 so he threw game 3 keeping that objectively awful hand.
ОтветитьI always have a blast watching you guys play 60 card format! I think it would be neat if y'all did a lil tournament between staff members!!
ОтветитьElectrolyze is such a beautiful spell.
ОтветитьMagic will continue to be a joke to me, when BP is banned and ravagan walks free.. (a lot of modern horizons 1 and 2 btw xD)
ОтветитьCarl and Jamin content, it's a good day!
Ответить“The golden era, before anyone knew what the word interaction meant, when we all played yugioh together blissfully ignorant of what a good game of magic looks like.”
ОтветитьAre you both lefties and I hadn't noticed till now??
ОтветитьGreat watching these classic deck match ups and the both of you pilot the decks expertly whilst making them look so much fun. Keep them coming 😀
