The lady with high hair short on the side, she has the bone structure to wear it.
ОтветитьSuch good advice. And I love how you break it down as to why this does or does not work, & how you take into account face structure, age, hair texture, etc. I really wish more folks considered these things with cutting, styling, etc.
ОтветитьWhen a woman is older. White Shoulder
hair .akea you look too old cwrinkled dace and lobg hair ugh
I can’t stay on your channel because you seem to choose to talk more than you show.
ОтветитьI do love my short pixie hair style!!
Thank you Justin what are the new colors for short hair style for 2023-2024 Colors!!
I find short hair cuts are not balanced with full body figures. Not just the face needs balaned with the haircut.
ОтветитьI love to have now short hair...but head shave and vellum of hair etc...most of all lazy to go everymonth to cut the hair and keep up the first styles, And its expensive for Rentner😅
One more thing I love hair style fitt with my age this is the best hair style❤🎉
I went to the salon this week and asked for #4 after watching a ton of your videos. She went too short on top so I can’t do a ton with it yet, and she blended the back even after telling her I wanted the undercut look, BUT! It still looks good, I’ve gotten so many compliments, and it won’t take long to get it “perfect” for me.
Thank you Justin! Your videos have me the confidence to go for it!
I’m 53 & a hair dresser & I HATE to admit I LOVE the old school pixie (every hair n place) but I know the messy look is more hip but I just can’t bring myself to do it that way on myself I’m currently growing hair into a bob clippers underneath bob has a hard line starting at occipital bone angle forward to bottom of ear again not updated I like the old cuts better my hair is medium to fine & any point cutting or razoring of ends make it look to scraggly I’m stuck in the old days !!!! Want to look younger but can’t do the messy way 😮😮
ОтветитьInterestingly, I think the faux hawk suits me well at almost 48. I have somewhat of an edgy style. I have realized from your vid that the reason why I don’t feel very feminine when I wear it is because the length on top is not long enough (I cut, bleach and tone my own hair). I will let it grow more. I am also very happy to learn from you that this style is still on trend now. Do you think it’ll stay in for 2024? Thank you so much!
ОтветитьWhy is it so difficult to find a good stylist
ОтветитьNot for real just at jailhouse barber. 😊
ОтветитьI love the movement in my hair, and still love it on the messy side because of my curls. I do love short hair but I end up looking like a pin head because my old body got fat 😂😊
ОтветитьI’m growing my hair since losing it to chemo for cancer treatment… I’m so grateful for your content! I always had long hair and help me to gain excitement for this process… thank you 🙏🏼 sincerely
Ответитьgood video, but what about wavy and curly hair?
ОтветитьDo any of your videos address curly and wavy combo hair? So far I’ve sampled videos and it’s all straight hair. What about us with curls?
ОтветитьShort for fine hair
ОтветитьI love the short short pixie.... life is bodacious and easy...
ОтветитьDon’t know why everyone thinks older women have to have short hair
Ответитьabout 20 years ago at 50, on a whim I strolled into a NYC barber shop and asked for short hair. I loved loved loved the results. It was similar to #4 but longer on the sides--90s style. Then I let it grow out for no good reason. For at least a year now I've wanted to do it again but I'm in culturally conservative Texas and 20 years older and was afraid I'd end up with a conventional 'old lady style.' I watched many many videos including yours, Justin, so that I could learn the 'language' needed to describe what I wanted. Finally made an appointment at Floyd's Barber Shop and planned to say "I don't want to look like a man and I don't want to look like an old lady, then try to describe #4. Imagine my delight when I walked in and the hairdresser herself had the cut. She asked me what I had in mind and I just pointed to her head. At first I thought it was a little too edgy--too short on the sides but now, 4 days later, I love it more and more every day. And watching your video boosts my confidence even more. Thanks for all your videos.
ОтветитьHow about a shorter style for thin, fine hair? I don’t have enough hair to do any of these styles.
ОтветитьMy problem is I need a good hairdresser who can cut hair, I have been in quite a few with a picture of pixie shortcut, the problem start:she says you got a high back hairline, your hair is too thick and the one in the picture has thin hair..you need to wait and grow long piece at front..you got to many layers or tint ..etc etc.. She cut my hair and don't look nothing like a pixie cut..just timidly cutting I walked out depress.and wondering what can I do?
ОтветитьI think I would have short hair if I have a better jaw line. I don’t like my double chin.
ОтветитьI think this is a great video! You do explain very well and i'm happy about it! Thanks Justin.
ОтветитьWhy do you show models have flawless faces and necks.
ОтветитьThe problem I have is I have to take my glasses off for the cut, so I cannot see what the hairdresser is doing as she styles the new cut. As a result, I can never reproduce the great look she gives me!
ОтветитьI had long shoulder length and bobbed hair for the longest time--all one length. One summer in the humidity, I decided to make a change to a longer pixie as a start and now I have a short pixie, longer on top, and short on the sides! I have learned since the pandemic how to maintain it myself and I get tons of compliments and people always ask who does my hair. My Aunt was a stylist and I was lucky to be able to learn a bit from her. ( I became a nurse but I should have been a hairdresser/stylist). I love the ease of care with my short pixie and I get it highlighted professionally--that has been my biggest challenge. A pixie that is highlighted properly in the back. Every time I think of going back to one length at the shoulders, I go back to my pixie and I think of Judi Dench and how great she looks at her age!
Ответитьugh. Going to find a stylist that will go with what I can maintain and look great on me instead of just chopping on my hair. I hate getting my hair cut!!
ОтветитьCertainly one of the best video I have seen. You explain so well how short hair can be youthful, stylished, in mouvement and can be chic and distinguished. I almost wear all my life short hair. Since I am 6-7 years old. People are always telling me how my hair are stunning, beautiful and the color (blond with hairlights) amazing. I do not want them to look grey (even if my hair are completely white). Ladies can choose whatever they want today. So, I prefer a great haircut, having hair who moved. My style is dynamic and I love it because I found the perfect hairstylist for me. Next tome I will try something even more audacious! ❤
ОтветитьI have enjoyed all your videos; however, your title says"...women over 50" and seriously, very few of the women modeling the hairstyles are over 50. My mother is interested but really cannot relate to what her look would be when she doesn't see the styles on women relevant to her age group. Thank you.
ОтветитьWonderful. As someone that ALWAYS had long Cherokee hair, I'm learning how to embrace my chemo pixie. Especially in the heat. Regardless, I'm learning my awesome hair pattern. ❤ Thank you for the lovely tips!
ОтветитьSome people start loosing their hair/ have scalp issues/ their even shoulder length hair just looks straggly
ОтветитьLove #4 and #5. I wanted to capture the pix to show the hairdresser but couldn't grab them. So I'm googling like mad to find something similar 😮
ОтветитьI love #4. But I have a lot of very fine hair that tends to flatten out on the top and crown. What are the best products for getting lift, texture, and volume?
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThank you ❤
ОтветитьOlder women have less hair and often fine. Older women want to hide a particularly thin spot to hide scalp. Older women have varied hair color, like browns and grays. Older women’s😊 hair can’t handle hot tools on their hair often and short hair needs ironing often to smooth. Older womens scalp doesn’t like a lot of hair products . Older women’s hair is frizzy, & dull. Well, I’ve describe mine so I’m guessing older women share these issues often. I can’t possibly imagine my hair short! It’s white and changes to brown after the ears. Showing the jawline from the profile displays the sagging under the chin. Showing the back neckline would be hairy ugly. I love ya but I feel stumped.
ОтветитьI'm 68 and wear my hair super short. I chopped it years ago because I was dancing so much that my hair was "shower wet" ! They use a # 7 buzz on sides & I do the front top myself, leaving it longer & more versatile. I have very fine, straight, stubborn hair with some cowlicks, so putting a 'manipulator' type paste wax in damp hair, I let my fingers push the sides upwards, and the front is shoved back, sometimes with a few wisps that fall forward. As it dries, I apply a super hold gel, because if wind blows, or later in the day, it still wants to flop!! I haven't colored my hair in years, its mostly platinum grey in front with a more salt n pepper in back, I like it.
Ответить"Does this style make me look old?" "No, your age makes you look old!"
ОтветитьI like #3
ОтветитьThat lady at 11.20 looks so cool! I don’t have the confidence but love the look. I struggle as I love a short cut/pixie and often have mine short however a lot look best over the ears and as I have an odd ear which I am really conscious of I want to cover the top of my ear. I hate that as I feel it can make the cut begin to look “old” and at 55 I don’t want to look old!
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤ Great SHORT SHORT SHORT xx
ОтветитьWhat does a person have to use to get these shapes. I enjoy your videos because you explain how to get these looks.
I don't remember the cuts. I don't have time to re-watch this video right now. Thanks as always for the explanations.
Want you to cut my hair!
ОтветитьTrying to find a new and good hairdresser to do this is so dreadful. Wish he wasnt traveling so I could drive from WA state! Dreading to trust again I miss having great go to stylist after recent big disaster. I am so ready to change my look and ready to display my true extreme edgy self!
ОтветитьI’m 62 and have a perfect round face. My go-to style is asymmetrical, but I’d love to get my hairdresser to try #4; how do you style it to stand up, off the face, what products do you use?
Ответить
