Really good to see Panasonic finally up their with their Technics brand - I'll be picking up a set of them after this, I can get the A800's at around 40% off current RRP - which in my opinion makes them an absolute bargain based on how they placed in the middle of a very strong pack here.

Whoever buys the garbage airpods for 799 are the dumbest people ever.

I have the Momentum 4 and I am quite dissatisfied. It is not possible to turn off ANC and the touch sensitivity is extremely annoying and every time I turn it off from the app, next time it's back on. Also there is no indicator showing whether the device is turned on or off. There are more features that aim for "smartness" but they are unreliable which induce frustration.

The B&W PX7 S2(E) are missing here. Exactly the same price point as the Sony XM5, would have been interested how theyd do against the others.

I have the H9 3rd currently. What do you think about the sound quality Momentum 4 vs H9 3rd? I really like the H9 3rd but it's not very comfortable on my head. I'm afraid that the sound quality of the Momentum 4 is not as good as the Beoplay. Thanks

I can remember when all headphone quality was terrible Bose had the best sound by miles I can remember going into a store seeing a pair for £120 and thinking all that for headphones then listening 😮 blown away. still my favourite not perfect but good enough and noise cancelling is fantastic.

I owned a few Skullcandy headphones: Hesh 2, Hesh 3, Venue, as well as the Beats Studio Wireless 2. I was looking for a bit of an upgrade and I have to say the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless is another league of sound quality.

First thing I noticed was the bass. It was so clean and smooth sounding. It was also very strong compared to my other headphones. But It is not the only great thing about these headphones.

I listened to Tinlicker's "The Space In Between EP" and was blown away by all the details I could hear that I just couldn't before. Especially with low volume sounds that play behind other sound that are much louder. With my other headphones those quiet sounds would get distorted and often go unnoticed. But with the Momentum 4 I would be able to hear everything very clear with amazing detail.

I went with PX8s, given that they have that really good sound quality that pairs well with super good build.

They also have the most luxurious feel amongst the list.

After reading comments on headphone review videos I finally get it: 3 people in the world care more about noise cancelling than the sound quality, and everyone else is following them even if they don't really need it. According to almost any other review I've seen, the Momentum 4 beats the XM5 in sound, price, and maybe comfort. The ANC is also decent.
But, that Sony ANC... people just really want it.

Edit: I was wrong.
I will say, I have the XM4s and I hate the speak to chat feature. You cannot turn it off. If you cough or clear your throat, it turns on and you have to wait several seconds before what you are listening to comes back.

Owned the Focal Bathys, Apple Max's and B&W Px7 S2 and landed with the B&W's due to sound and build quality. Half the price of Focal. Looked at the Sony XM-5's and found they felt cheap

My Jabra 85h uses a double-press to change from my phone to my PC, but they are dying, and Jabra doesn't seem to make them anymore.

started with b&o h95 , had for about 6 months sound is good
but not that comfy as only use for long periods on the pc and
not that loud , so i purchased the sony wh-1000xm5 , and was very pleased
more comfy a bit louder and sound great , then i listened to a sound
demo on utube between the sony wh-1000xm5 and the sennheiser
momentum 4 and there was to me a noticeable sound improvement
over the sonys and 60 hours battery so i purchased in the black friday sale
and wow they do sound great , very comfy .
i purchsed the Sennheiser BTD 600 Bluetooth Dongle as thought
there connection may improve over my asus motherboards Bluetooth .
i dont use them for critical listening as use focal clears through
RME ADI-2 DAC FS dac with the pc ............

XM4 are better

Do yourself a big favour buy the Sennheiser hd 250 linear mk1 or mk2 from the 90’s absolutely blow this lot out the window
Trust me I’ve had 60 pairs of headphones in 53 years never heard so much clarity and detail and worth every penny don’t be fooled by the age just change the pads

Bought EAH-800 based on this review. They are ok, but a lot of shitty details: buttons are too narrow/too close, really crappy quality for this price range. Auto stop music when you remove headphones is bad, it keeps pausing playback when I was wearing them, needed to disable it.
Technics logos are made of material I really dislike, it is uncomfortable when I double tap exactly on logo, and it seems like it will fall apart quickly. All in all pretty good, but I really do not understand why so many manufactures mess up trivial details, maybe sensors for proper detecion of removal are too expensive or something...

Sony 1000XM5. The goat

I have the sony wh1000xm4s and am looking for a more comfortable headset. My biggest problem with the sony is that they feel way too sweaty since i wear them while studying for long periods. They arent breathable at all and i think this isnt mentioned very often. I have tried the apple headphones and they are a lot better but on the expensive side for me. Do you have any recommendations for breathable headphones? From what i have read i think the bose apart from apple have the best foam for this problem.

I had b&O earbuds which adhesive fell apart after owner them for a few years. Love to get Bowers but may want to see if I can test the sound quality to the Sony. If the build quality is cheap ..
I still may buy Sony only to wait for your review for 2025 headsets. It is possible I may spend more $$$ then.

удивлен ,почему ничего не сказано про Focal Bathys или Mark Levinson NO. 5909. И про ооочень большой минус всех сенсорных наушников почему то умалчивают - при холодной погоде сенсоры сильно глючат....для меня это играет большую роль.....переслушал много наушников ,согласен у всех разные вкусы, но я остановился на Focal Bathys. По качеству звука они на голову выше многих здесь показанных.

I have the momentum 4s, and I love them, but the clamping strength isn't nearly enough for me to use if I have to move around muc/at all. I use them for watching movies when I need to be quiet at my house. I just got the Bose quiet comfort ultra, and they are AMAZING! I couldn't resist the $9/month financing through sweetwater.. It's like getting flagship headphones for free.. I will never even notice the $9 being pulled out each month.

I am so surprized that people like touch control for the earphones. For me it immediately makes then almost unusable. If you using them outside even light rain makes them do crazy things. Even under the hood damp fabric starts to make random commands and drives me crazy.
