Are all of these retinoid like tretinoin and adapalene safe for people with little to no acne but want anti aging benefits?

Thinking of trying adapalene until I can get tretinoin script.

I want to introduce a retinol to my routine but I have extremely sensitive dry skin with type 2 rosacea. I have that under control now with Soolantra, but I’m wondering- could I use differin to train my skin to eventually accept stronger retinols like Tret?

Yes using only sunscreen alone in my mid 20s my skin test result using some machine from those beauty counter and healthcare product counter show significant improvement.

I am mega active since 13 years old. I have 7 ECA including netball, volley ball, girl guild (marching). Only less than 5 people actually use sunscreen so to be cool kid i don't use any. I got super good skin with no pimple or turn red under the sun.

I work in the entertainment industry at my mid 20s and start to hear people say sunscreen is non negotiable. Actress/actors simply reapply sunscreen every 2 hours. So i decided to go to those counter with skin test to see my skin condition. My first sunscreen was from counter and the results was significant.

Later i learnt that we do not need counter branded products and i was introduced to Japanese and Korean skincare. Till today i still prefer Korean skincare for how it feels on skin. Most importantly is the super affordable price tag too.

I used retin-A then convert to differin because i start to have hormonal ance due to my adenomyosis. I do not have winkles yet do cannot comment on that aspect.

Differin do reduce my pigmentation and make my skin smoother to touch. I heard its suppose to be helpful to prevent mila too? I never use eye cream till today so i once got mila around my eyes but they are gone after my retin-A usage and i no longer have them now while i use differin. I am using differin 5 years ago. It's more suitable for me because it's not light sensitive. I am night owl.

All the brands of adapalene that I’ve found (including Differen) contain parabens. Can you please recommend one without parabens? Or are parabens nothing to worry about?

I have used Adapalene for anti aging, and it definitely worked. I switched back to Neutrogena rapid wrinkle repair, though, because the price per month was about the same, and I like the feel of it better. The Neutrogena also has a good moisturizer in it, so I don’t have to moisturize separately. I like having fewer steps in my routine.

The instability of tretinoin made me switch to adapalene. I refrigerated tretinoin and it still started to get weaker and lose effectiveness a month or two after opening. Adapalene is much more stable, doesn't have to be refrigerated and I noticed similar results with my fine lines, considering I'm in my early 30s, adapalene beats tretinoin and cosmetical retinols so far.

Personal experience - Adapalene does NOT work for hyperpigmentation NOR anti-ageing. I used it religiously for 2 years (my aim was for my hyperpigmentation) - it does NOTHING for my hyperpigmentation NOR my wrinkles. I do wear sunscreen 18/7.

Firstly: I think I'm I'm love with you. (For the record- I'm straight.) So, there's that.😆

Seriously tbough: With regard to the sunscreen study you mentioned- I assume the condition of participants' skin, at minimum, remained unchanged & experienced no FURTHER degradation bc they added sun-protection to their daily routines, but I'm wondering- Were there marked IMPROVEMENTS in skin condition that could be attributed to various/other ingredients within that sunscreen...ingredients that, as stand-alone products outside of "sunscreen", might not be proven effective against UV/UVB rays, but might possess anti-aging properties themselves, (ie: zinc)?
Did the scientists detail that info? And do you have any tboughts on this being a possibility (or a proven definite)?

Lastly (this question is re: totally different product): You may have talked about this in the past & I apologize if you've already covered it. I'm a newbie here:
Do you have an opinion about using SULFUR-BASED products for their anti-aging, antimicrobial (acne), antiinflammatory, etc. effects? Do you personally have any sulfur-based product suggestions/go-tos? I've ONLY been able to find ONE reliable product (marketed for ppl w/Rosacea) and it's TINY & EXPENSIVE.

I think if wanting to use for anti aging you should go for the .3 prescription strength of differin. I was not able to use retin a as it was too irritating and caused more pigment from the inflammation but I can use differin daily and it has kept my skin young. It’s stronger and more stable then retinols and all retinoids help with aging Slit if people can’t tolerate retin a ir can only use maybe once a week so those people will do much better with differin. Maybe start with the .1 then move to the .3.

Boomer here, we didn't know how much the sun damages skin when I was young. I was very active outdoors- boating, golf, fishing, all while living at the coast and purposely seeking a suntan! Now in my later years I am spend many thousands of dollars to treat the signs of aging. Facelift, botox, fillers, and laser resurfacing. All are painful, expensive, and requiring downtime. Listen to this woman! It doesn't matter how many cosmetic products you put on your face, if you skip the sunscreen, you will lose the war!

Naphthalene is an ingredient in mothballs . It contains benzene. These are hazardous ingredients and can cause cancer. If tretinoin is closest to vitamin A, I'll stick with that.

I think I read that benzoyl peroxide is also derived from benzene. Why are these toxic things being used on our face? They appear to work, though, so I'm confused.

Staaaaaaahp putting shit on your faceeeeeee! Mad nerves under there, the head is the most sensitive part of your body, especially your face! Improvement of texture and skin in a study is not absolute, you have to factor in race, melanin, original skin texture, skin sensitivity and like she said, “there is no vehicle control”. I’m happy she highlights the lacking info in studies. There is nothing more beautiful than a naturally aging woman!

I quit using Differin gel to give retinols a try. It wrecked my skin. I’m not saying it’s bad! Just that for me personally I saw much better results with Differin. I even saw an improvement in skin tone (I normally get very red in the face that shows through concealer & foundation). I finally have gone back to my Differin and am beyond excited to get my skin back lol
