BEST VAN FLOOR PLAN for a Solo Vanlife Traveler? 2023 Winnebago Travato 59GL

Thanks for another very descriptive and real life and use video.

Tell me though, didn't Winnebago miss the boat (a bit) by not allowing use of the Nautalis from the outside. The back door must be open to fill water and once closed, the owner has to listen to the water pump when using the van. Is the water pump in this unit "whisper quiet?"

I hear every reviewer drive by this choice by Winnebago as a "four season feature" when in fact for 3 seasons of the year (even here in Canada) if used a lot this definitely would be an annoyance at a minimum.

I think the bed looks very industrial and not homey at all when is up. They should ave figured out a more aesthetically pleasing solution .

Like the length of bathroom. I’d get rid of curtain also. I have mobility issue so being able to sit on toilet while bathing it a plus for me.

Where would you put a CPAP machine in that bed area?

Way to expensive for what you get. Where is a lounge/sofa/relax space. Not everyone wants to sit in a chair all day driving and again at night. Bed to small. It’s a large twin yet seats 4 people.

Solo traveler does not need four seats. He/she needs one. Or maybe two. Waste of space. You need a working space for computer or what ever. No sofa-style seats. They ruin your back.

To be honest, there are few thnigs in life I want to do less than shitting in my van. I hope I never get the "true van experience".

if you are a single Traveler taking three showers per week and using the bathroom on a regular basis how often would you have to service the water tank?

Great tour, especially the part where you do a detailed counting of the seats. Never would have figured that out on my own.

The bed setup would never work for me. It seems a waste of space and awkward.

You mentioned that you purchased your similar van in 2018. It would be very useful to know what the resale value for your van would be after 5 years of use.

How is it that for solo vanlife, there are 4 seats? You are going to dedicate so many cubic feet of interior space for something that you profess you will not use. It is solo. Let the guests sit on the floor.

Does a 59G floor plan allow the driver seat to slide back more than the 59K? We rented a 2018 59K & I found the driving position to be cramped for my legs. We are planning on renting a 59G in the spring to try that layout. It has the older dinette area like yours which looks like a better layout.

I hate the additional seats. If this is for a solo traveler and only sleeps 2 I don't see needing more than 2 seats. Add additional storage space or maybe before out a way to make that a work area for somebody who might be working while on the road. While some might suggest it's for visiting in a class B I thinking any visiting going to be done outside not inside.  

Do you use that area much for visiting?

I like the large refrigerator and that it has a drawer freezer.

Not fond of this layout, bed space very disappointing, and ontop of the toilet.seems the back half of the van lost its touch. Way.too expensive for this!

Two changes in the 59G floor plan makes this worse , no sleeping area in the front lounge and the bathroom is smaller than your original floor plan in the 2019 and older models , also the table is considerably smaller , would prefer.the original propane two burner as well . Your 2019 G model is the superior floor plan and will be what I would be looking for .

Have you ever done a video on the Panoramic RV vans? While the floorplan is quite different, I think it is also very similar in key ways to the Travato 59G.

200 K for a small van? Wow way too expensive. This is stupid.for half that price you get a much better rv.

Anything CLOSE to that price is insane.

Thanks for posting this. It’s very telling that after 5 years in a travato, you’d still get another one. Yeah, they don’t have the highest build quality and they did needlessly rearrange the door area, but you’re right, the layout is unique.

It and the embassy are on my short list because I think they have floor plans I could set up to work in ( I code and use multiple monitors or one really big one). Part of me thinks the embassy would be better because there’s no black tank. So 4 season living would be easier. Since you’ve spent so much time in both, I’d love to hear your thoughts in that regard.

Why do you have 3 beds for a solo travel van?

The G model had the perfect layout in older models before they screwed up the front and took out the booth seating. Being able to have an extra bed up front was a big selling point, I don't know why they took it out.
