Great points. Only thing is I think it’s important not to be an ignorant person when it comes to news. I hear so many people say “don’t watch the news, because it’s harmful” which is the wrong idea to have in my opinion. You should want to know what’s going on in the world or in your city simply to stay aware and so that you can contribute valid points to a conversation when people are talking about topics in the news/what’s happening in the world.

If you have a smart phone which a lot of people do, you most likely have a news app on your phone and you can get your news like that. Quick small doses. You don’t have to spend hours reading or watching. But to suggest for people to not watch the news entirely because it does nothing for you and to ask someone in your life once a month or once a week what’s going on in the world is wild.

+1 on the news. 99% of what we see on tv or read in the national news has no effect on our daily lives. Checking every few days or using a news aggregator / Google alerts for topics that are important to you is better and a lot less stressful

4-hour Work Week is the worst financial help book. So overrated, I don’t know why people keep referencing it. Doesn’t teach you anything beneficial, just dreams of not having to work

Curious tho…if you have created this four hour work week, what do u fill the other hours with? Isn’t it binge watching friends and working out? Or are you actually working more than four hours?

Hey brother excellent video! I really enjoyed it, and you seem very cool! I thought you were wearing a Cuts shirt, the blue one, bc I recognized the collar.

Also wanted to say excellent editing! I am guessing you use Premier Pro. I think you could make a $50 course and would sell it pretty well. Just throwing that out there. I subscribed, so 1 closer to 500k!

Actually, learning geopolitics (not from mainstream media ofc), helped me realize what is happening to the market. BRICS, dedolarization that's on the way and other geopolitical quakes that always impact the market...

For example if you have investment in Chinese companies it's good to know when Will US start a war with China (it's not a question of if, just when) so you know in advance when you should get rid of your investment before those companies are delisted from NYSE and you lose everything.

Love these EXCEPT for not paying attention to the news. Really shows the unchecked privilege, because what is happening in the world right now is people being murdered and severely oppressed and we don't have the privilege of being able to ignore these things and have nothing bad happen to us because of it, and it is up to people who hold more power and influence to help those who who don't.

That’s an interesting point about news intake. I used to get my news a lot more casually, and now it’s become this obsessive daily routine. While I appreciate being more informed, I do agree it causes more stress, negativity, and even feelings of hopelessness or depression. I’m trying to find a better balance.

I love that you said busy is code for lazy. I think busy is code inefficient 😂 If we work smarter and not harder most of us wouldn’t hate our job so much as we wouldn’t be so busy and could take the time to resolve the parts of our jobs we don’t like. I know this doesn’t work for every job but it works for more roles and people think it will.

Oh wow--the idea of retirement always made me feel a bit weird. I mean, you're supposed to work your butt off to save up a little money so you don't have to work anymore... and hope you're in good enough health to enjoy those years?
I always joked that I'll never retire, I'll just drop dead on the job and that'll be that. Partially because there's no way in hell I could retire with my money and all (learning what I can--thanks for giving me starting points, Gabe), but mostly because I can't imagine what the hell it would look like. I'd probably be doing much the same things I'm doing now (just with more days off), though hopefully with much better jobs. I mainly want to have plenty of financial wiggle room to ensure I can care for myself in advanced age, but if I'm still capable of doing stuff, I want to do it, especially if I enjoy it.
Besides, I have too many pets and am too much a homebody. Might as well just find the best jobs possible and do 'em as much as i want.

I’m not physically well and arthritis prevents so much that I think about accomplishing. 😢
I was so organized and efficient…so you can imagine how I ruminate over and over in my mind the things I once was capable of.
Although, I could see more specialists and look for additional help from other sources.
I admit I’m not a minimalist, I’m 62 and I was in the antique business for 25 years. So I have collections I really love… but to much and I’m working on people coming in to buying some things. My problem is how much I love these old 200 year old books and maps. Although, I don’t need them all, it’s so hard to find someone I can trust to sell for me. It must be outsourced, but I need to be there watching since I’ve been taken advantage of by some collectors and if you aren’t sharp and aware constantly you lose money!
I find this difficult since I don’t have family members involved with antiques and not interested. One book can be worth hundreds and everything must be research. So it’s not like I can donate my collections and I don’t have the fortunate income to do so.

I would really strongly argue against not being knowledgeable about current events and politics. At the bare minimum everyone should keep up with local & state politics and vote when election day comes around! On an individual level following current events doesn't do much to benefit you but spending even just 15 minutes a week and doing your duty to vote is doable for anyone and everyone.

I completely disagree with the "be dumb" step. It's this way of thinking that creates ignorant people. One should be informed about the things happening in their surroundings and on a more global level. Of course, you won't read up on every single thing, but to get the general gist of it - absolutely! How do you think people avoid being stuck in a country that they hate living in? By monitoring what's going on and when it's time to leave. Also, we should create our own options on things, not be told by others "what's going on with the world" because that's their point of view.
