Timeline of World History | Major Time Periods & Ages

Lots of comments about my placement of Egypt, so let me respond: Geographically, Egypt is in Africa. However, from a cultural and genetic perspective, it is also very much a part of the Middle East. Although it had interactions with other parts of Africa throughout history, it also had lots of interactions with the Levant, Anatolia, and Mesopotamia. Therefore, for reasons of design and in order to more easily show several key interactions that occurred in ancient times, I placed Egypt next to the Middle Eastern civilizations rather than the Sub Saharan civilizations. In the video, I mistakenly summarized the horizontal sections as the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia & the Pacific but it would have been more accurate to describe them as the Americas, Sub Saharan Africa, Europe, the MIDDLE EAST, Asia & the Pacific. In other words, I did not mean to insinuate that Egypt is a part of Europe! Finally and most importantly, please note that there are no geographical labels on the poster itself. While civilizations are generally shown from West to East, this is a history poster, not a geography poster, so it's not exact.

I love this chart. Would be awesome in a personal library or reading room. Im a little sad to see nothing on Polynesia. In polynesia our ancestors came from a sunken land mass in the Pacific called Hawaiki. I wish there was more on our people. We had king's and cheifs and all. Think there is more to all these Peoples ranting and raving about G❤️‍🔥D throughout history then We think. The ubiquitous nature of Spirituality all over the world over the years is something of a big deal and there is definately a higher cosmic Truth to be understood about it all. It is like they all are attempting to explain it with Their own familiarities and languages, the higher cosmic Truth that is.

Hi. I bought the book and notice that the timeline for World history does not start at 3300 BCE like one in this video but at 2500. Is the one in the video a newer version?

Thanks for this concise, albeit vastly broad, classification of the key global historical civilizations. Moreover, this complex socio-political chart includes major world incidents - such as the 4.2 kilo-year event and the Late Bronze Age collapse. BRAVO!!!

There is a small mistake...In the third section of the middle ages, the Mongol empire did not extend past Egypt. The Mongol Empire was defeated by the Mamluk sultanate in Egypt and could not enter Egypt.

This is fantastic. However, as an Irish person, it would be great to see our passage tombs, particularly Bru na Boinne, and Newgrange, the oldest standing structure on the planet, represented on the chart. It dates to around 3200bce - 2,900bce. It is often forgotten and it is hugely significant as a Stone Age site.

Although the chart is good, I feel like it missed out on history of eastern Europe regions, such as Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Baltic, Teutons and Hungary
