IMSCARED - The game that acts like a virus

With all due respect, it's an interesting concept but the game is more of the same.

Samey looking PNGs that aim to be mascots for their audience, cryptic messages and a supposed hidden lore, poor writing, etc. Its a generic indie horror game with an interesting mechanic.

I genuinely do not like playing horror games with pixel art styles because they're always so damn unsettling, I think it's because they feel more abstract? also because pixel games often have compressed-sounding audio, which is harsher on the ears and more creepy

i think that pixelated games are more scary for me because i used to play with those types of graphics, and it being horror now kinda messes with my nostalgia and childhood.

i’ve somehow managed to watch this multiple times lmao, because the fact that you sound so nonchalant despite playing this nervewracking, spine crawling game and still be ridiculously hilarious.

That's why i loved amnesia the bunker: the goal of the game was not to jumpscare you with the beast; in fact he makes a shit ton of noises and the light always start to flicker when he is about to emerge, and THAT makes it even scarier.


They are preparing you because once he comes out it's balls to the walls.



You have limited resources, limited visibility but there are NO jumpscares at all.

oneshot had done this kind of thing even if it is not a horror game. That is part of what makes it so amazing. to be honest, I can't think of another game that made me feel like this. Yes, I tried omori, to the moon and others in the serie, non surpass the emotional feeling when oneshot ends. perhaps try it.

My Siri, the girl, the creepy girl is dead in the white face is a grieving father so for some of the game you play as white face try to revive your girl and first of the game you play as the girl but when he first tries to revive her. It doesn’t go as planned so he ends up having to keep her inside of a video game instead, that’s why he would have to shoot herwith six bullets

Some ppl should realize four dimensional ultra realistic terrifying massive 89 eyed monsters with 7384723 limbs, a well planned out storyline, chase theme music which break your eardrums that could unalive a small victorian child on impact, and 500 loud jumpscares per second isn't the definition of "scary" instead something simple like this is probably one of the best horror games out there

Theres a puzzle game called Oneshot that us also Self aware and breaks the 4th wall and puts files for you to find in your system

And the game itself.says "you have *One shot*"

I'm someone who doesn't think pixelated graphics are scary at all but when a horror game has great presentation like Imscared then it can turn into straight up nightmare fuel. Alot of people seem to forget first and foremost that presentation is what will hold your horror game together and the graphics are just set dressing to add to the experience.

I'm sure that in 2k comments, someone has mentioned this, BUT I'll be a parrot - if you're looking for a non-horror game that kinda has the same premise of fourth wall breaks, check out "OneShot". It's a pixelated game too that I HIGHLY recommend. I'd 100% watch you play that. I think the game is vastly underrated, as I only just learned about it this year myself, when it's been around since 2016.
