What better to follow up a 2 and a half hours look at the Sea People? Yes an hour and a half look at Roman Britain incorporating years of footage I have taken all over the island. I am now broken. I'm gonna go crawl under a rock now and write the next investigation into Britain's Early Middle Ages. Oh also I got engaged the other day! Cheers all! If you enjoyed the vid don't forget to like, comment, subscribe and share as it helps the video to be seen and makes the effort worthwhile! Stay safe and catch you all soon.
*The script was researched and written by Eric TenWolde- however some additions were made by myself, including the section on the Antonine Constitution developing into a disaster for the empire, and the Germanic influence in the Roman military by the latter 4th century. These views are my own *
Rome NEVER conquered Scotland.
ОтветитьBe not deceived 666 The false prophet!!!
ОтветитьNot worth watching a video with a fake title. Rome never ruled the island
ОтветитьWhat were the main imports from Britain at these times? I know it said Tin and other metals at the beginning, but was this the case the whole time or did it changed in the middle and end?? Had to be something good for them to fight this hard to keep it.
ОтветитьI definitely think about the Roman Empire at least once a day
ОтветитьUnited kindom has come a long way from roman construction the brits have amazing round abouts cul de sacs and dead end roads water dats so much more all is done with no costs the repairs and the conservation of the land they do a better jon standing on their own
ОтветитьHMMMMM ! I ENJOYED ALL THE HISTORY OF THE ROMANS In BRITAIN !!! THANKS ! FROM, U.K. (2023).
ОтветитьDidn't rule Britain they ruled England never took all of Scotland in fact built a wall to keep Scottish in Scotland so no never conquered Britain as Scotland England and Wales make up Britain
Ответитьamazing
ОтветитьThere's ever increasing evidence that Britain handed the Roman legions their ass in as little as 44 years. There after, the association was commercial, not military, and certainly not occupation.
ОтветитьRome couldn’t rule Scotland
ОтветитьWhen you realize who taught England how to be conquerors.
ОтветитьYou mean, when Rome spent 500 years schmoozing the aristocracy of the isles whilst continuously having their asses handed to them by the tribes to the point that they eventually gave Britain up as a lost cause? Ask Channing Tatum how all that worked out.
ОтветитьLove ancient Roman history . I wish I could visit that time
Ответитьthe Romans never left Britain...
ОтветитьWales has a different history.. king Arthur 1st
ОтветитьWhat makes you think Rome does not any longer Rule Britian?
ОтветитьIs that Rutland Water (created in 1976) I see featuring on the invasion map?
ОтветитьI'm not entirely certain (as i rely on what i recall) but isnt the first map of the video from the time of the first invasion (by Caesar)?
By Claudius's time, Rome had conquered the all of the iberian peninsula and the kingdom of Pontus was already annexed (so was Thracia and Numidia , i believe). I may be wrong but i think you mixed the 2 invasions on that one.
When Rome ruled Britain . Well a part of it 😂
ОтветитьVery good documentary. So well done and so interesting. Thank you for the classic presentation. And congratulations on your engagement. Hope it lead to a long and happy relationship andmuch happiness.
ОтветитьThe Romans were barbarians. Ruthless murderers.
Why do history teachers and others push lies?
The Celtic tribes and others were caring and fair with everyone because they were a family of hardworking, same language people throughout this island.
If you didn't work you died of starvation and cold.
And this is where the Romans got their British accent.
ОтветитьAt best Rome was in control of the lower half of Britain. But they never ruled it and soon left it with tails between their legs.
ОтветитьMonotheism is as delusional fictional ,anti human and filthy as Wokeism
ОтветитьRome still rules britain
ОтветитьThese had to be black people because white people wasn't even around yet
ОтветитьRoman conquered todays England and Wales but were kicked out if Caledonia todays Scotland ❤
ОтветитьIt wasnt britain, it may have been albian but even thats unlikely.
ОтветитьThe romans murder Jesus, now they worship him.what weird world we live in.
ОтветитьExcellent documentary... Excellent
ОтветитьI was born in Rome and I came across this documentary by chance. I started watching it out of curiosity, I thought it was too long. As I watched it I was more and more interested until the end when I was greatly impressed. I can assure you that here in Italy few people know this part of history with the details with which it is told here. This documentary is awesome, excellent work! I hope that someone here in Italy translates the vocal part into Italian, so that it can also be brought to schools. I believe that no one should ever forget their roots. For those who read and are interested in Roman history, I would like to remind you that here in Italy, in addition to the Colosseum and the many other monuments left in Rome and in the rest of Italy (which still deserve a visit!), there is an entire almost intact Roman city , as it was buried by a volcanic eruption in 79AD. I'm talking about Pompeii, which is worth a visit once in a lifetime. Congratulations again from a Roman for the excellent work! I subscribed to your channel and will follow your documentaries with interest. Greetings and congratulations from Rome.
ОтветитьMaybe todays leaders would think twice about declaring war if they had to lead the army in person
ОтветитьNo - when Rome ruled England and Wales, not "when Rome ruled BRITAIN", huh?😎
ОтветитьEndless adverts. Gave up after five minutes
ОтветитьRome only ruled England and Wales!
ОтветитьGot to love you tube and how it lets ignorant people talk rubbish. The Romans NEVER ruled Britain!!!!
England and Wales yes, Scotland absolutely never ever not even once ( See Hadrian's wall for details)
The fierce resistance and successful guerilla tactics of the Caledonian tribes isn't even mentioned here. Its lazy to simply say that Scotland was of little use to the Romans so they didnt bother about it. Typical English pseudo historian.
ОтветитьI DO NOT THINK THAT ROMAN CULTURE WAS ELIMINATED IN THE 4TH AND 5TH CENTURIES, MANY INSTITUTIONS AND INDUSTRIES, VILLAS, AND CUSTOMS REMAINED EVEN IF THEY WERE DEVOLVING. EVEN TODAY ENGLISH STILL REMAINS LARGELY A ROMANCE LANGUAGE. ENGLISH LAW ARCHITECTURE, MEDICINE, EXPLORATION, ETC. ALL HAD A REBOUND STARTING IN THE 17TH AND 18 CENTURIES AS CAN BE SEEN IN MANY PLACES. HAVE A LOOK AT LIVERPOOL AND ONE MIGHT THINK THAT THIS IS PART OF IMPERIAL ROME.
ОтветитьThe Rome's never "ruled" Britain...we invited a couple of them over to make pizza and spagbog ....they just (like all Italian's ) got a bit full of themselves!
ОтветитьWow, the romans colonized the brits and when they left, the entire culture shifted to something much more "roman".
Ответить😊😊
ОтветитьCarimandous was a horrible woman, got rid of her husband for his subordinate his armour bearer .
Drugged Caratacus wine ( he refused to surrender to the Romans & with his men carried out guerrilla war with Roma)
and gave him to the Romans .
..
There was no such thing as Britain during Roman times!
ОтветитьWhere our reperations...
ОтветитьAll your viewers need to read Winston Churchill's History Of The English speaking peoples. When that's out of your reach... This Sceptred Isle.
ОтветитьThere's a spring in Keston in Kent called Ceasers well, because so legend has it Ceasers set up a camp there during the invasion. I walk my dog there often and I really hope this story is true.
ОтветитьAnd now our shores are invaded daily smh
ОтветитьStraps on his gladius. 'To Batlle, Pax Roma'
