Gods gift to our health. Too bad this is not more known in the western culture, only crap with sugar in it with a name Kefir on it. Sad.

My kefir grains should arrive in 2 days. It's my hope that by end of year all my family will be making kefir and propagating the grains I give them. It's gonna be tough though. Old dogs and tricks and all that.

I’m glad the government can’t duplicate kefir because if they can, they will destroy it purposely. Big Pharma doesn’t want to cure you because if they cure you, they can’t keep you sick and they lose control. Big Pharma wants to keep you medicated and sick.

Have been making our own kefir for years. Love it! I really enjoy the processing of it each day; I almost find it meditative. My husband drinks it every day, but I only have it now and again. 3 years ago I adopted a low carb life style and worry that kefir is too high in carbohydrates (despite knowing that most of the sugars in the milk are consumed during the fermentation process). What I'd like to know is when should kefir be consumed? On an empty stomach, after eating, while eating or before eating? Should we avoid consuming hot food or drinks directly after taking kefir? Will hot food/drink destroy the benefits of the kefir?

Maybe the culture was in the animal skin it was kept in? ie it happened by chance .
