Love your channel. Thank you,💕💕
ОтветитьThese ladies would be turning 100 this year, if they are still with us.
ОтветитьThis is a great show! I've never heard of it before, thank you.
ОтветитьGreat channel. I am liking it more and more all the time. Thank you.
Ответитьgreat channel and content - would you know if there are any recordings of "The Halls of Montezuma" weekly radio broadcasts from San Diego USMC base circa 1940s? I'm working on a doc and haven't been able to find any.. just curious if you'd be aware? -thanks
ОтветитьThe World War swept many things from the airwaves. One was "Vox Pop", of whose charms i am aware but to which i am impervious. The conceit of weekly (two e's) bringing in gaggles of Everydays if not thin then would have worn a hole in the superheterodynes had it not been pre-empted by a million bombs. So The War DID yield some benefit.
Of course the same sort of "entertainment" has persisted, indeed rules billions of Devices today; the Idiot Box has prevailed.
Our Host is a worthy, & i subscribe & enjoy. But as one who's just heard "Box Pop" for the first time after hearing OF it for a long time, i'm impressed by how lame it is even in a wearisome genre. I'll avoid "Vox Pop" for the NEXT 80 years.
How terribly lovely. Thank you so much
ОтветитьMy mother was 17 in 1940; I am so impressed with how well-mannered they all were; compared to the girls of today, they were all but saints!
