I have the greatest respect for the farmers more than any other occupation. They are the true American heroes.
ОтветитьThat old N-series Ford tractor, is the first type of tractor I ever operated. Since then, it's been an old Case, International, a big ol' Oliver(9955), a John Deere, two other N-series Fords, and a Belarus. A bucket list item, is to operate a combine.
ОтветитьI remember seeing this film when I was in school. First, in elementary school, and then in high school ag class. And then, recently, after I got my phone, the one I'm typing on now, this film rolled back around.
ОтветитьThis is another fanciful video and propaganda for farm subsidies. Most farms even then were controlled by agribusiness.

ОтветитьThe first couple of minutes of this is missing. There is a complete version on a channel by Ken Hook. He actually got it from the Blazey family. He has a lot details in the description and comments.
ОтветитьThe good ol' days. Gone forever. 😢
ОтветитьI thoroughly enjoyed this film.
ОтветитьBack when you could farm and make an ok living on a few hundred acres or less, milk 20-30 cows. Now it's all too big.
Ответитьsub from me man i love these old films. I wish i could have lived back then. Its still kinda similar where i am we bale hay and stuff like that haha but the the lifestyle and the culture has faded a lot. I blame social media. World is too fast to be appreciate the little things now.
ОтветитьThat red and white 8N was the first vehicle I learned to drive as a kid in the 80s on my grandparents farm.
ОтветитьI count my blessings every day. That being said.... I look at these vids .... sorry 16mm films and realize.... wow what a wonderfully simple and satisfying life before technology and the internet came along!!!!
ОтветитьCapitalist propaganda, straight up.
ОтветитьThis was great!
Ответить"Weeds" are not evil. Evil is to use machinery to force the Earth to grow monocultures. Heck, monocultures themselves are evil. So the logic goes the opposite.

ОтветитьFARMING HAS CHANGED LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE BUT NOT FOR THE BETTER . NOTHING IS SIMPLE OR MAKES SENSE . ALMOST EVERYTHING TODAY IS ABOUT PROFIT AND THAT INCLUDES AGRICULTURE . SMALL FARMS AND BUSINESSES ALIKE HAVE FALLEN PREY TO GREED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MOST FOOD CROPS AND ESPECIALLY THE PROCESSING OF FOOD IS NOT HEALTHY AT ALL . FAIR TREATMENT OF ANIMALS IS ALMOST UNHEARD OF . HOW I LONG FOR THE DAYS OF MY GRANDPARENTS WHEN YOUR NEIGHBOR WAS LOVED AND THERE WAS RESPECT FOR PREACHERS AND CHURCHES . THERE WERE NO FOREIGNERS IN OUR GOVERNMENT TRYING TO DESTROY OUR NATION OR PEDOPHILES LIVING ON EVERY CORNER . AMERICA WAS BLESSED AND GODLY BUT LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE GOT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!----------------Ernest E. Johnson
ОтветитьSeeing these old videos keeps me young! 😊
Ответитьall brand new equipment? No wear on anything? An over $2100 dollar TV (in todays money)? propaganda is strong here.
ОтветитьHowdy ya'll,
Ya, those were some great times, things have definitely changed alot since then, as a 5th generation beef Farmer, the work is still hard, and the long hours haven't changed, but I wouldn't trade it for anything, the crops are mostly the same, just alot more bushels today,
The Farmer's wife, Alberta, a very Cool name I gotta say, it just happens to be the same name of the province I grew up in, and still Farm today, Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦
Really enjoyed watching this video, I love seeing how our ancestors used to Farm, and compared to how we Farm today, very Cool indeed, Stay safe and Farm on my Friends, Peace
It's hard to believe a contemporary 16 year old city boy could work at a farm nowadays.. he would be out of shape, no motivation, constantly on phone, excuse ridden, confused on gender, etc., and to think neighbors helped each other.. amazing.. Why did America Change for the worse? Why did you have to be brainwashed by that Tv? Repent
ОтветитьNo gloves when handling the hay bales? Great video. Thanks for posting!
ОтветитьMONSANTOS BRAIN WASHING
ОтветитьThis film gives a message: purposeful, simplistic, hardworking life with love, respect, values and morals.
ОтветитьI think that was a much better time in our history. Sure isn’t like the BS we put up with today. And today’s equipment is all junk and way overpriced I have no understanding how a person could ever be a farmer today with all the costs, overhead, and permits/ regulations.
ОтветитьOh the memories of a time gone by. I wish I were back there now. There's nothing like waking up at grama's house with the windows open and the smell of ripe figs in the air as the lace drapes gently drift back and forth with the wind on a fresh, July morning. Oh, how I wish those times had not changed. But I still have them in my memory, and I'm so grateful for that.
Ответитьاحب الافلام ذي😢
ОтветитьMonsanto and Beyer approve of this message
ОтветитьAnd here I am, almost 70 years after this film was made, laying in bed, on the family farm, listening to the same sounds as the kid when he couldn't fall asleep. It's crazy how so much change has happened since then. And yet, some things never change at all.
