When you tell someone to think of how the old west sounded back in the day. We all imagine something from Aaron Copeland

Wonderful music, inept images. Fanfare for the Common Man should be accompanied by images of the common man, not cosmic scenes. The cosmos is incredibly beautiful, but Copland's music celebrates the common man. Why not show the people whom he honors with this glorious music?

Prof Marshal Leach in the Ga Tech EE department (in the 80s), ran a course on speaker building. As a final test in his demo lab, students played this striking peace through their newly constructed speakers. He loved it.

This awesome tune has been a persistant earworm of mine for longer than I can remember. I finally found it with the help of the Shazam feature in the iOS on my iPad. It will listen to whatever music is playing & ID it within seconds. I used the record feature on a clip from an online and then played it back after activating Shazam.

Ranks right up there with the themes from Chariots of Fire 🔥 and Saving Private Ryan [ The closing cemetery scene where Ryan, as an old man now visits Normandy where his fallen comrades are buried 😢, and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye. And it's especially poignant as Ryan asks his wife, " Have I Been A Good Enough Man To Earn This ? " Referring to I believe is his future and life preserved at the expense of his fallen buddies!

THIS OPUS ALONE justifies Copland's career as an artist/composer.....

This was played at the funeral for my grandpa who i never really knew. He "flew a desk" for the airforce during Korea and worked in software development afterwards. He could've done better as a father, apparently. Regardless, I wish i could've met ya Donald.

My great uncle Orin died on Omaha Beach in Normandy France on June 6, 1944. God rest his soul.

It is a fanfare, but touches on a sense of the pastoral, becomes plaintiff, optimistic and then enter horns and tympany. A fanfare, roll up you sleeves.

Living on a Coast Guard cutter on occasion a crewmate awakens you at 0300. You stay in your rack (bed) but place one bare foot on the cold deck so as not to nod off again. Put headphones on to listen to this fanfare. It is a bit much so you smile, but dammit, it’s for you. In a bit you have coffee with a slight diesel taste - the boat is old. More coffee and you sharpen enough to become the navigator and watch the sun rise. We were out there to rescue if needed and Copeland helped. Common man - Semper Paramus.

I come back to this song every time I finish writing a novel. Feels great to be a human today not gonna lie.
