If it had at least 6 voices, I’d have bought it for trying/sketching ideas on the go …
ОтветитьThat 80s cheese jam was amazing.
Ответитьthe tone of your voice and the way you talk is unbearable : being ironic about irony is just stupid , ultimately
ОтветитьSince not all of us can afford a Juno-X at around $2,100, these smaller, less expensive Roland products are perfect for me. Not perfect for all, perfect for me. There are so many talented people out there that don't have the money so they don't get the chance to show their talents. These sub $200 products give them a chance. Also, love this channel! You have an amazing sense of humor!
ОтветитьI like it too so each his own
ОтветитьAs a fan of the pocket operators I love seeing dumbed down dummy dum dum hardware that I can amuse myself with since I'm just a nub nub.
Ответитьunbearable video
ОтветитьAll that said ok but still thousands of times more powerful than your skinny girl arms lol play harder girly man!😂
ОтветитьSounds Cheap
ОтветитьIt’s fucking mental .. I love it’s horrors - unashamedly plasticy
ОтветитьLol can’t tell if you love or hate this thing. Seems like you’re expecting it to be designed for professionals and punch way above its belt, but the market for this is obviously beginners and portable enthusiasts. I’m buying one 🤷🏻
ОтветитьI think this device is going to be a huge hit with non-keyboard players, as I think there are many producers, guitarists etc who'd love to get some synth chords into their songs without having to learn to play keys or find keyboard players. But I also have such mixed feelings about this unit. I own a Roland Juno-DS, which I really like for its massive layering capabilities and a friendly-enough UI, but it has so little in it from the Juno 60/Juno 106 series, that it doesn't really deserve to be named after them. I think Roland should have really included more of these sounds into the DS instead of loading it with hundreds of harsh EDM sounds and creating yet another little separate unit that doesn't even have proper DIN MIDI inputs and needs special 1/8" TRS to MIDI type A cables for it to collaborate with my DS. It might be worth a try, but I think I'd be better off with a refurbed Juno 60 instead of buying things peacemeal like this and dealing with serious limitations of such approach.
ОтветитьI feel like a Juno is one of the least appropriate synths to turn into a preset machine. If it's a synth that requires konami keyboard shortcut menu diving ninjutsu like a DX7, then I get it. But with the Juno series, it's almost impossible to get a bad sound from it, so I dont see the need to lock it with presets.
ОтветитьI have a j6 and I think I bought the wrong one lol the t8 is way more useful
ОтветитьUnderstand the hate but if it allows kids an affordable entry into the synth world why not but I’d steer them towards the volca line.
Anyway cheers for the heads up on the pioneer as1 had missed that one Dave smith has the Midas touch!
I wanna get one of these for the sending midi to my SP404 MK2, I want something small and battery powered. the cheesy 80s presets are just a bonus
ОтветитьI have one and use it for midi poly sequencing, I can’t think of anything like this thing existing before
ОтветитьRolca. Lolca
ОтветитьI think I actually like this little cheap thing !!
Ответитьi dont use mine for sounds, but as a chord generator for some ideas…I get so set in the same progressions even if its just two or three chords it works for me. I could use software but Im mostly hardware based and although I can play keys I still find this a really useful tool.
Ответитьwhy would i need a chord generator if i have an ipad. asking for a friend.
ОтветитьI just bought one. Wish me luck learning the sequencer.
ОтветитьThe last track is just incredible.
ОтветитьFor the money this gear is amazing. If you cant be original with it thats on you and lack of creative ability.
ОтветитьYesterday, we used the J6 sequencer to run an E-Mu Virtuoso 2000. I know, I know, but I'm trying to learn music theory while making the leap from power pop to prog.
ОтветитьThere's a custom Korg NTS-1 oscillator called J6 now... Guess what it does lol
ОтветитьSo far the best exposition of J-6’ sonic possibilities!)) bravo!)
ОтветитьThis thing can be found for less than 150 US. Totally worth it IMHO.
ОтветитьLove it! 😂😂😂
ОтветитьRoland J6 or Korg Volca Sampler?
ОтветитьBobs your uncle 😊 thanks for that that!
Ответитьwhere is that breakfast anime section from?
ОтветитьI love the channel for the memes and the shade thrown at the gear but honestly I haven't watched one episode of Bad Gear where the tracks you made weren't fire. The gear may be bad but the musician can def make up for whatever may be lacking, thanks so much for the content!!
ОтветитьRoland is like: "how can the Microkorg sell so much??? That piece of little chunk"...what can you expect from a company that discontinued the V-synth. I get it.. they need to sell... but in long term they are losing reputation.
ОтветитьI was on the fence about getting a j6. It was the size and portability that interested me.
But the tones would annoy me after a while.
I'm glad I saw this.
I will hold off for something else.
I loved the " HOLD " meme and auto.
Still laughing 🤣.
Great video as usual.
Just ordered one cheap on eBay and I’m excited I can stop trying to learn how to play keyboards for real. 😂
ОтветитьThis is great piece of bad gear !
ОтветитьI was interested in this to help me find fitting chords in progressions. Now I am not since the limited capabilities. The chords and chord changes can be found for free in the manual though
ОтветитьShit ... 💩
ОтветитьRoland are also a victim of the moronic world conspiracy..Why haven't they implemeted the key feature of their "we design the future" 80s designs? The ability to rhythmically trigger arpeggiators and sequencers from drum machines trigger outputs !! Instead another preset moron soundalike device... Missing out on their own inventions is not just stupid..it's musically crippling and puts their late 70´s and 80´s designs lightyears ahead of their actual releases,, We design the future? not anymore...the future would enhance the proved workflows of the past, the interactive sequencing, and not dismissing such a fundamental concept..interactiv sequencing of multiple self sequenced devices. Thats a foundation Musical genres emerged around., a basic concept like walking or swimming.. But thats to sparkling for a moron that listens to his masters voice all the time, just ignoring that swimming is fun, and walking alone dont brings you over the river... Too bad, since the form factor of this little arias is great, and they are not twidely on the touch..just right size and weight, battery powered, mobile.. just misses a little speaker.. I actually modded my T8 with old mobile phone micro speakers.. works very well..not loud..but enough to spontaneously write some lines in hotel room without needing to twiddle with headphones.. a luxury add on.,I ve to admit..but adds a lot to the feeling of the little arias, to be a self contained system... I ve a little switch to bypass the speakers and allow clean interfacing via the line Outs.. Anyway..the little Arias are only bad gear because of underdeveloped software..the basic concept is very good, modern and useful. Even for people that have the benefit of access to the original futuristic Rolands....bu why no trigger interaction in-between this little devices? => Rule Moronia !
ОтветитьYour videos are great, congrats! Question...could I use the roland j-6 sequencer also to sequence an external drum machine like a volca beats for example? Those 64 steps are really good!
Ответитьfuck americans always says "its too small!!"" iwant real full sized big keys"" andthey plays sucks !!!! i can make better music with small mobile devices !!!:-)
ОтветитьLooks like Roland saw your video on the Korg Super Section and decided that that was a niche that needed re-filling in 2022
ОтветитьPeople been calling me a heretic for telling them that tb3 is the best clone... It is the best sounding clone.
ОтветитьAnother great video, thank you! I'd love to see the Alesis Quadrasynth on this show in the future! Cheers! 🙌✌️🎹🖖
ОтветитьI wasn't accepted by my hipster producer friends... until I got my insta-worthy Persian rug! 🤣
ОтветитьGot mine mainly as a sequencer for my Red Sound DarkStar XP2 and Korg Volca Keys (but I need some cables before I can do that), but it does have a few pretty nice sounds of its own as well. I do already have a Yamaha QY-10 sequencer, and of course a laptop running Ableton, but it's always nice to have more options and less latency.
ОтветитьYeahhhhh… no. I’ll just keep it to my lovely Juno-60 😊
