It's like this with video games too, these days even if you buy physical discs you still have to download the whole game plus updates as the discs only have the game key on them and not any of the files.
ОтветитьHaving evil politics*
ОтветитьGet Woke Go Broke
ОтветитьI do hear the Rippaverse is doing well. To me I think Comics ain’t bad. Just how most people create them now is bad.
ОтветитьI’ve been working on some comic heroes myself. And trust me, they’re better than these modern ones who love memes.
ОтветитьThe last time comics were treated as collectibles it lead ted to the crash of the industry. Glad to see they are intent on repeating the mistakes of the past.
ОтветитьIts crazy to me that comics can still sell to this day, something like indie comics or great example, Invincible, definitely has fans buying comics to read and compare the show to the comics. Its just that Marvel make further mistakes
ОтветитьI got excited for a sec, I really new warriors to come out, would’ve provided years of entertainment lol
ОтветитьWhy are people even reading Marvel and DC anymore? Seriously I want an answer
Also I’m still mad about not getting New Warriors Snowflake and Safe Space.
Just wait in a few years Marvel will do another Civil War storyline that pits the left versus the right. -_- I got my first few comics from a grocery store back in the 90s.
ОтветитьLet's face it. Adults dont know how to write teens.
ОтветитьQR codes shouldn't be the norm not everyone knows how to use them or has an iPhone 20
ОтветитьComics died in the 90's and at this point, they are just a corpse being paraded around.
ОтветитьGoing from QR codes to Snowflake and Safe Space. That's quite the rant.
I don't like the idea of QR codes for one reason. If at one point Marvel decided to stop the project, you run the chance being locked out of that panel or page. Like with games that have online gameplay going offline, Marvel could take the hidden content offline at any moment. This would mean that people should either download these pages if they want to keep their collection complete or buy the Trade Paper Back instead. This could lead to a fall in sales for single issues. One thing fans should do is keep an archive of these extra panels and pages so it will always be accessible, and that is actually the thing that Marvel says they're trying to avoid with this.
do you know how is a comic called when it is cured from these problems? MANGA :v
ОтветитьDoes anybody remember when Shonen Jump first came out here in the United States from Zis? that sucker was five bucks, but man did you get your money's worth from it, was a large manga/ anthology comic book
ОтветитьIt says something when the transformers comics are doing better than marvel.
ОтветитьThis is also the reason why i still collect back issues (70s-2010s comics)
ОтветитьThey never learn
ОтветитьManga does this better. Japan have their audiences and demographics. Also the books are numbered so someone knows the order in which to follow. That's how I got into them. No seperate series to buy to figure out what happens in another comic.
ОтветитьNext thinhg you know the entire book is just a qr code
ОтветитьScan the QR code? More like scammed by the QR code. Disney knows how to screw readers over
ОтветитьMarvel has a bad habit of completely changing the characters in the comics when movies come out, so when fans of the novie come looking for the comic, the character they liktis a completely different person. Even now, they're killing Deadpool and replacing him with his daughter. Same with blade. Captain America, they replaced him with the falcon. Thor, thry replaced with Jane Foster. Hawkeye, they replaced with Kate Bishop. Wolverine, they replaced with X-23. You can find multitudes of these swaps. The even more annoying thing is, some of these replacement characters already had an identity and personality independent of this, but they shoehorned them into these roles.
ОтветитьWhen you only think about money, you end up burning the integrity along with it.
ОтветитьThis QR code is just stupid.
ОтветитьThat Screentime character only wanted to join the New Warriors because he thought they were the team most likely to 'go viral'. So he's just after clout then? Great morals for a superhero to have....
ОтветитьMarvel is really just angry that they still have to make comics if the big wigs had their way you would just consume all the movie and shows and never question.
Ответить"Internet gas" sounds like the anonymous hacker known as 4chan bombed one too many dodongos.
ОтветитьI’ve been a comic fan since I was very young. I remember when it was more of a niche hobby that only nerds / geeks only liked but now since it seems like it’s gone more mainstream that it feels like people don’t understand how superheroes work nowadays it’s just really annoying that things can’t go back to the way things were instead of people adding to much modern politics and stuff. When I was growing up comics were one of my favorite things to have an escapism from reality. Now it’s seems like everything has to be in your face and political. In superhero comics it feels like there aren’t really fighting crime or super villains to thwart. It also seems everyone is becoming an Anti-Hero. It’s one of the main reasons when it comes to comics I mostly read Golden Age, Silver Age, Some Bronze Age and very rarely Modern Age.
ОтветитьTo get a idea of how bad things are: there's a volume of x-23 where she tries to claim that the villain has a thing for piss 🤢
ОтветитьWill you do a review of the new batman series?
ОтветитьMeanwhile: Actually good fan comics are becoming popular and mangas are selling like hotcakes.
ОтветитьI forgot about the fucking internet gas plot point. I think they would have better luck getting chatgpt to write their stories.
ОтветитьUnlike y’all who complain about everything, I on the other hand, ignore the bad comic and stick to good one. Example, DC Absolute Zero is a currently on my radar for the next chapter. Alot of Marvel comic also just doesn’t hit the same for me anymore since like 2018.
ОтветитьThe new warriors never even released
ОтветитьExpensive at $5 😂😂😂😂 you can't be serious MsLady
Ответитьcorrect me if I'm wrong but wasn't New New Warriors a joke series to lead into a more serious mainline plot?
ОтветитьI would love comics to be cheaper because right now I can only really afford one comic per month which makes me really sad when I’m in the comic store and I see a really cool looking comic but I can’t buy it because I’m reading the flash run I live in the uk and almost everywhere I look the comics are £4-5 which is ridiculous when I could buy some actual books for that price. It’s not to bad it’s my choice to keep buying them but this was just a little rant about how much it pains my wallet when I’m checking out my newest flash issue.
ОтветитьHonestly, i think since Marvel and dc tell their own stories in movies and TV shows their no real reason to go read them since they are not adapting anything
ОтветитьThis is why I stick to Dark Horse and Image.
ОтветитьI have never picked up a comic in my life, but I see that they currently have the same problem as other forms of media: Literally just bad writers. A lot of media nowadays is written by people who have no idea how to write a compelling story or have well thought out, rounded characters.
It's a bad sign if the characters shows up and starts explaining everything about themselves (and the stuff they explain isn't anything useful or of interest). It reminds me of how children who are just getting into writing start listing likes and dislikes for their character and list things like "likes: tacos, jumping jacks, good people. Dislikes bad people, pain, spiders".
Today the main point of a comic is thst it physical. Webcomics are also cool, but they are different. Consequently fans of comics read them today, because they have a physical copy of it, not digital on. They like it, because they don't need to go online to watch their comics or they don't like to watch on a screen.
Ответитьwhile I agree that marvel and dc aren't doing well, indie comics are doing really good in my opinion. Dc has had some hits on webtoon, and short series not connected by canon
ОтветитьScreentime is just a worse version of Freakazoid, genuinely.
ОтветитьI know this is late, but as a Gen Z comic fan I thought throwing my hat in the ring might be helpful. One of the things I really like about comics is the history of it. I think leaning into that, with stuff like the JSA or the Avengers 1/2 issues would be a good. If you didn’t know the JSA is DC’s oldest superhero team which is now focused on having the superheroes of the past train the heroes of the future and the Avengers 1/2 issues were written and drawn in the style of silver age Avengers comics. I think that these are really fun stories and truly enjoy them. Also I don’t 100% believe in this, but apparently people think my generation is really nostalgic for what that’s worth.
ОтветитьI know I'm crazy late, but I think one issue that goes overlooked is just how most good work for teenagers and kids accept their audience. A great example of accepting your audience is Chainsaw Man. To non Chainsaw fans the work is bizzare, over sexual, and weird. But to chainsaw man fans it speaks to real issues young people have regarding sexuality, growing up, grooming etc. It's pretty mature in that sense. But the series still engages the audience's issues or desires.
I think that's why comics like Scott Pilgrim are timeless. If you're a kid or young man, Scott Pilgrim slaps hard. It is a comic that deals with deep topics and subject matters in a smart and beautiful manner. But it still is childish in it's presentation (7 evil exes! Hot girl randomly goes on date with you! Video game references brr). But that childishness is WHY it reaches it's audience.
A more grounded look might be at Raina Telegemeier. Her books focus on young girls navigating things that THEY care about.
Comics from Marvel and DC... they are so out of touch with reality. They don't speak to the spirit of people like they did. I mean, yes, Ultimate Spider-Man is literally a story that will hit emotionally with 30 somethings but it is an exception, not the rule.
Good stories are honest. But when you're too worried about who you will offend, you often make dishonest stories. Stories that flatten reality, or never hit thr core of anyone's experience.
>uses new warriors, the same comic that was never published in the first place
lol
