I am not a big fan of subscription models but I can see the advantage for developers. I just downgraded from version 6 to my paid version 5 as I think what you did with your free trial is not more than a marketing thing. I always loved GoodNotes and use it since v4 but I now look for alternatives. Perhaps you go back to „serious marketing“ of a great product.

I’ve enjoyed using GoodNotes 5 but it looks like I’ll soon be looking for another app since version 6 is difficult to use and still is missing the really useful features such as moving an object forwards or backwards. Makes you wonder if the people designing the app actually use the app for more than taking notes. From a financial point of view it should be important to increase the user base to include more than students taking notes, especially at the much higher prices being charged. AI is a new feature both innovative and current that may be useful to some but it won’t make up for the missing requested features that would be more useful to a broader base.

I am curious how many customers asked for AI-assisted word recognition and spell checking or math checking or multi-platform usage for a single account? I am a older, working professional design engineer. I just want a good digital notebook that allows me to take meeting notes and make mathematical calculations and engineering design drawings with math all around it. Sometimes you just need to keep a design simple and just make it more streamlined and easier to use.

I purchased a lifetime license for GoodNotes 6 on August 10th, and then I used up my AI quota on August 15th. GoodNotes 6 displayed that the quota would reset on August 16th, but why hasn't it been updated today? I read on Google that GoodNotes 6 resets the quota weekly, starting from August 9th. It's been a week since then, but the reset hasn't happened yet, and this is making me feel uneasy. I hope GoodNotes official can provide me with a clear response regarding the reset issue of my remaining AI quota.

In the course of using GoodNotes 5, I've encountered some issues that have left me quite dissatisfied, and I'd like to share my perspective here. As a long-time user of GoodNotes 5, I've been frequenting this app on my iPad, but the recent updates have left me rather perplexed.

Recently, GoodNotes 5 rolled out a new policy whereby existing users are required to pay an upgrade fee three times the cost of the original GoodNotes 5 purchase in order to access the latest version, GoodNotes 6. However, I am currently unable to find the older version of GoodNotes 5 on the AppStore. This implies that if I'm not willing to shell out a substantial amount for the upgrade fee, I may not be able to continue using the app I've already purchased when I upgrade my device in the future. This poses a considerable inconvenience for me.

What's even more frustrating is that every time I use GoodNotes 5, I'm bombarded with frequent pop-up advertisements that significantly disrupt my user experience. I feel as though these ads are coercing existing users into upgrading to the new version, which strikes me as an unfair tactic.

I also recently observed that the GoodNotes team seems to have capitalized on a change in policy by their competitor, Notability, utilizing a price reduction strategy to attract a larger user base. This "kick-them-while-they're-down" approach has left me profoundly disappointed, especially considering their subsequent introduction of an unreasonable and expensive subscription model. This seems to be a deception of the users and a disregard for our concerns.

In conclusion, I hope the GoodNotes team seriously considers the needs and interests of their users, rather than merely chasing short-term profits. I also hope that the AppStore takes note of these issues and ensures that users receive a fair and high-quality experience on the platform.
