Im writing my first song about losing my son 5 years ago due to drugs and haven't seen him since his dad has him and im fighting in court . I been clean and sober for 5 years now.. but i dont know where to start never wrote music before but want to about my life past and my emotions ect.

My daughter lost her dad last year at 13 a life threatening heart condition that he kept to himself, turns out she may have it too, I hope not. This was the perfect song to say goodbye to him, and to remember the love we have thank you Dean for a song to grieve❤

Thank you for this song. I needed it, and it spoke to me down to the last word. Especially the talk of words and the emotional landslide. I didn't have the words then when they told me that if I had anything left to say, to say it then. That was so suffocating. I had so much to say, but all I could tell her was how much I loved her. Now, five months later, I think of her every day. I miss our phone calls, and I often find myself thinking "oh, I should call mom!" I miss her everything. I will struggle to remember the moments before, but in time, I'll hopefully be able to look past the landslide because that is the best way to describe this emotion. Rest well, Mamacita. I'll see you soon.

I heard this song several years ago when it first came out. I always thought it was so beautiful and heartbreaking. Now, it hits differently - I lost my dad suddenly exactly a week ago. Now the words have taken on such meaning that I hoped I wouldn't have to understand for a long time... but in a strange way, I'm glad I have this song.

I feel like this song can also be applied to someone suffering from body dysmorphia where you used to be thin and have gained so much weight that was out of your control. I've lost the person I used to be and it eats at me every day. I'm reminded of it every day when I see my reflection.
