I have all "self-watering"pots and quite a collection. I have let them completely dry out, have used yellow fly catchers, replaced the soil, topped it with sand, all this and my plants are dropping off one by one :( do you have any other tips to rid them?

I know that is easier to eliminate them in this way. But you've to admit how much is satisfatying to squish the stupid little minifly that was buzzing near your face 😂😂

Would this work on succulents? The recent rain storm in California brought these nasty fungus on my plants

The leaves on my plant that probably has been infested by fungus gnats has black spots on them as they dry out to be yellow. Could this be fungus gnats or something else? Also I've covered the top layer with pebbles to help stop the growth. How do I know if I should completely repot the plant?

These black flies are soooo annoying! They keep on flying soo close to me and I found one in the oven once! Soo annoying!

I clicked on this thinking at least one of the methods would use hydrogen peroxide. If you have this problem, all you have to do is let your plants dry out, then water them with a water and hydrogen peroxide mix equal parts. It is good for your plants, bad for those bugs, and works!

I always felt something nipping at my ears and then we got Pantry Moths to boot. I hung a few of them sticky tape things from the ceiling and a month later I went to remove it and it was filled with tiny gnat looking insects. I only caught one moth but that really woke me. Beautiful lady with a grand solution? I'M DOING IT!!! Thanks

I have plans yesterday from the store they are a little one Donato big is ready water ready in it from the stalk and everything hooked it up already so I just got to bring it home and put it on window but still what it is whatever it was I last night what kind of bugs they are Leon Bibb at night and they like to message you while you sleeping in bed and all at what to do if can we kill him or to spray some perfume or something to get up get us away from them I will I want to see I be tired at night I want to go to sleep let's kill this bug

Thank you so much for this with my indoor petunias! The flies are infesting my apartment and I pinpointed that I have been watering a little bit too much and now it's only once a week...versus 3 times! The larvae are little white buggers that love to hop on the leaves. I forgot about Neem!

The easiest way that I found to get rid of those annoying little flies is to buy a coco, aka coconut coir mat (like the stuff that is used to line hanging planters, it’s like 1/4” thick) and/or spanish moss and put around 1-2” of it covering the soil. I buy it by the roll online for this purpose so I always have it on hand. You can cut the coco fiber mat to fit around the plant if it’s a plant with very few stems or shred it by hand and cover the soil that way, just make sure that it covers the soil bc the gnats will find entry if ifs not completely covered. It acts as a water filter/barrier and stays dry, so they avoid it. Sometimes I used one or the other, sometimes I cut the coco to fit and then top with the moss. The barrier keeps them out, plus it’s easy to water as water just flows right through it and it also looks nice as a soil topper. 🪴
