Until our days noone is like pantani. No pro can reach him in style, in soul, in attitude, in brutality. Pantani was and will be in my soul inspirational. The reason to keep on cycling almost every day despite my ex accidents on my spine and my daily pain. Marco forever.

he made climbing look so easy. Like the laws of gravity/physics, didn't apply to him.

I mean just look at this video, everyone looks like they are fighting their machine and the road and Pantani is just so smooth and like a butterfly on the bike. Unbelievable!

Normally I hate it when people overdub music. But in this video I actually enjoyed it. Good choice! It adds to the drama but is not intrusive. It's nice to watch cycling without some announcer's verbal diarrhea constantly blaring.

I think it is beyond doubts that in 1999 the bunch was dirty... Yet Marco in the collective memory is no Lance, and will never be. Probably because everyone still remembers his amazing riding style, his crazy descending skills, his grace on the drops, his absolute dominance over any other rider (dopers as well). His climbing was pure joy for the eyes. Marco was not the type of guy who would suddenly start winning races just because he found the right doctor, he had been the best climber in every race he participated since the days he had hair on his head. He was a clever and complex man, a leader on and off the bike, but also an incredibly fragile human being. I invite everyone in here who only sees the doper to take a deeper look at his story, which is a quite remarkable human trajectory through light and darkness, greatness and misery, life and death.
