This video came out a year ago. Idk if you’ll respond to this comment but it’s worth a shot. Is it possible to make an updated video?? If not then looking back is there anything you would change in this video?
ОтветитьWhy the F*** do you have maid in abyss in the thumbnail?
ОтветитьMy problem is it is pretty expensive to get all the books you recommended. I found it to be around 240-270 USD for all levels of the books, even only getting the first levels costs over 100 USD. Are there any free/cheap alternatives that still work?
ОтветитьAnyone who recommends Heisig RTK is doing a disservice to the people they are recommending to.
RTK exists to teach you to WRITE kanji, that is all. You will not learn vocab, you will not learn the reading and you will not even learn the correct meaning(s).
And since many Japanese don't even write kanji anymore (thank you computers and auto-correct) what purpose do you have for needing to memorize how to write 2000+ kanji?
Answer: There is none outside of trying to impress people that you can write Asian words.
Do yourself a favor and use something like KKLC (Kodansha Kanji Learner's Course) instead. It serves a similar purpose with far more versatility and usability.
The video game technique is funny because when I was a little kid my English vocabulary expanded greatly through video games. (Especially through Final Fantasy which is made by a Japanese company lol)
ОтветитьI hate when people say things like 2 years… 2 years of what?! 1 minute a day? 10 hours a day? 🤷🏽♂️ be more specific with your estimates.
ОтветитьMy problem with learning Japanese is other learners. On Tandem and similar apps, it's all about competition and being told 'you should be able to learn this in X number of weeks/months'.
They also tend to be libtards.
the Made in Absys thumbnail tho
Ответитьveil 80 keyboardd niceee
ОтветитьUseless for my stuff
ОтветитьWhich is better? Core 2k 6k deck or tango n5 and n4?
ОтветитьDo you have any recommendations of the easiest books to read when you start that phase?
ОтветитьYO, its been a year, anyone got a resource to learn hiraan & katakana finally?
i also ordered al 3 books yesterday(genki 1, tango n5, learning the kanji), they'll arrive in some days, so chop chop, i need hiragan & katana resources.
There is something about oriental languages and languages in general ..... accents seem fascinating to me learning 한국어 and français so far and loving it ❤❤❤ ....
ОтветитьJFC dude! Is there a fire? is this 100yd dash? you tryna read the dictionary in 30seconds? American, native English speaker with a BA here, no hearing or comprehension issues ever. But WTF? Cut out like 33% of what youre saying and talk at a normal talking speed!!!!! Holy shit. Youre not making an Oscars speech here. Or are you? 🤔😵🤦
Ответитьam discouraged to go in japan because of the commentaries of a pretentious canadian teacher called graham. he pretend to be a encyclopediathe truth. he say that learning a language takes many decades. he just make me want to not go in japan. why should we go in a country where basically nobody want to learn interna' languages even after getting an american influence the last century? when japnese is just like learning greek , hebrew , russian mandarin or thai , those so hard languages we feel it's a waste of time? if we have to rely on the words of those boastful people it's preferable to take them negatively. no need to go in japan with those YT videos anyway it's no more different than going there for real
ОтветитьI am moving to Okinawa soon and this video really helped with my anxiety on how to start learning. I’d love to pick your brain
ОтветитьI say get the 2000 kanji out of the way in the first three months of intensive study. Then you don't have to deal with the stupid shit anymore.
ОтветитьTalking about learning japanese is not what you do first. get to the basics
Ответитьthanks. im trying to apply your language learning methods to Vietnamese.
ОтветитьI bought tobira beginning japanese, kind of wish I got genki seeing all the material out there for it.
ОтветитьAs for games I rather put games that was in Japanese in Japanese. Final Fantasy 14 for example or Persona 5 Royal and maybe some okami hd sense those are my kind of games on my Steam Deck.
ОтветитьI see you Re:Zero light novels <3
Ответитьmade in abyss thumbnail jumpscare...
ОтветитьApparently the Tango N5 is also translated into Chinese. Wouldn't that be confusing? Maybe distracting? Otherwise it sounds amazing! I would be interested in learning your realistic goals for learning Japanese. For example, how long will it take to learn Hiragana and Katakana. Thanks!!
ОтветитьNONONO you purposefully put that cursed terrifying anime in the thumbnail I'm sobbing
ОтветитьWait till AI improves. You'll be able to speak to an AI in Japanese.
ОтветитьI saw made in abyss in the thumbnail and instantly clicked lol
ОтветитьAwesome tips!!! Another resource I'd highly recommend is HelloTalk. This a great app to use to speak with natives. Since I don't live in Japan nor know anyone who's Japanese, this has been the most useful tool in terms of exposure to natural Japanese. Natives can correct sentences on your posts, and you'll get the gist of how natural Japanese sounds/is written. It puts your language skills to use and because of that, it encourages you to continue. Only downside is that anyone can correct you, and not everyone may know the correct grammar usage, etc. But it's still worth it! It feels like you're passively learning the language while giving that sense of "skipping" to conversational level. This sounds like an ad but I just really love this app. It's been more helpful to me than other methods I've used, so I wanted to put that out there!
Ответитьomg that tango n5 book is amazing, than u for including it here
note for myself: USE GENKI
you look like averagejonas
ОтветитьI bought the Tango N5 book very early on too. it was amazing.
I studied pretty hard for a year or so, but the past 2.5 years my Japanese has been on a slower burn. I just read manga for 30 minutes or more a day, I watch a lot of shows with JP subs, and I text/talk daily to my GF. though we do speak English 60-70% of the time, while more the opposite for texting. (my comprehension is leagues above my speaking.) I'm finally taking a JLPT test this December though, so I bought the N4 and N3 単語 books, as well as some practice exams, and finally finishing Genki 2's grammar, and I'm going to get into the Intermediate Genki book soon as well.
The only thing I feel like I did right with Japanese is spend 10 years when I wasn't learning it, just immersing in the language, so when I did study, it unlocked that subconscious knowledge. I think Immersion is very underrated as a learning tool.
BAN KAI
ОтветитьMade In Abyss <3
ОтветитьI'd rather just watch anime then go live in Japan.
ОтветитьWhat book should I get to get nukemarine’s deck?
ОтветитьI’m thinking about starting finally…. Subbed :)))
ОтветитьRenshuu is a great app for learning hiragana and katakana at the same time. It starts off with both "schedules" at the same time, which let you learn them both with spaced repetition every day. That's how I learned them a year ago, can definitely recommend. I continued using renshuu for my learning, but yall dont need to, the hiragana and katakana part might be good enough for you.
ОтветитьMade in Abyss
Ответить“Remembering the kanji” is TRASH! don’t waste time on it, not a second. You spend months on it and in the end you don’t know one single pronunciation nor word with those kanjis, and just one of the many meanings for each. TRASH! Spend the same time on wanikani and you’ll learn hundreds of kanjis with their readings, plus hundreds or words. To date, the best way to learn kanji and vocabulary
ОтветитьJust a big ad
ОтветитьI've been stuying it for 2months, having learnt hiragana and kataganas the first month gave me a great sense of achievement , currently i'm trying to learn at least 4 radicals per day and their use,so far great but on the other hand i haven't even started practicing pronuntiation
ОтветитьI installed custom firmware on my 3ds just to play the games
ОтветитьI 1000% agree with learning Hiragana and Katakana at the same time with each same sound together
Ответить
