What about intel arc a770 16gb gpu 👀 if we make a dual gpu setup it’ll give us a staggering 32gb vram if it’ll be a good option over nvidia rtx a4000 16gb vram or 2x a2000 24gb vram which will almost 20% more expensive than 2x arc a770 with almost double vram … my personal experience with a770 single 16gb vram is quite good tbh it’s just have only one issue with unreal engine that texture sometimes kinda mess up when I try 4K resolution but with few tweaks it fixes…

i really want to get a amd, but the other option its 3090 or 4070ti the problem the 3090 used its close to the price of the 4070ti

I'm surprised he thinks AMD GPUs are fine for game dev. There are too many issues with it in regards to the Unreal Engine 5, and if you are a blender artist for example, the 7900xtx is slower than last gen's RTX 3060. That's even backed up by the Pugent System's review on those GPUs. I'd say that about 90-95% of game devs use Nvidia for the graphical work.

Game devs don't buy their own workstation. They all work on whatever system is assigned to them at the office or delievered to their home at employer's expense. And broke ass indie devs just work on whatever they already own which is why 99% of indy stuff can run on potato spec PCs.

best pc for game developers is top cpu and gpu on steam, if your game cant run on average gamer's pc, it's not optimized enough

Wow so people in the comments don't know who Puget is guys one of the benchmarks a lot of tech review sites run is developed by them so they can get consistent data on programs you generally don't benchmark they have really good data on their website and write-ups from very knowledgeable people within the company

Game development encompasses so many aspects - as a solo hobbyist game developer I am doing music composition/production, 3D modelling, 2D art, graphic design etc... even before getting into the engine. For me Intel is the best for my audio (Studio One), Photoshop and After Effects for 2D art and UI/animation. Intel's QuickSync is a huge positive for rendering out stuff. this guy doesn't seem to know his stuff at all.

i been using my 3900x on 32gb ram and a 6800 amd, it does unity just fine in 4k also does unreal in 4k pretty well, i say to be safe like this man said, 64gb dram, 16gb vram minimum you can get away with 12gb on a 4070 and 16 cores or more.

My i7-3770 (non k) with 32GB of 1600mhz Ram and an RX 5600 XT Mech OC 6GB GPU literally just sprouted two legs, feet and toes, got up and ran to the window at 59FPS then sprouted an arm, a hand and four fingers, opened the window and then THEN just as it was about to jump out of the window...... IT FUCKING CRASHED!
