What a croc of shit, Hitler met Jesse Owens , congratulated him and invited him to his house. After speaking with Owens Hitler asked your President must be proud…….. to which Owens replied “ I wouldn’t know sir as I haven’t yet received a Telegram. “ he never would. Hitler was bewildered.

It is a very interesting documentary that shows mainly the US part in the war but falls way short of the acclaimed documentary by the British THE WORLD AT WAR in depth series of episodes covering all aspects of the European and Pacific War. Produced by Jeremy Issacs and narrated by Laurence Olivier.

I was born a whole 51 years after the end of WW2, and it eats at me at how easily this could have been prevented. I can't imagine how the Poles, Jews, and political leaders in the West who were trying to sound the alarm on Hitler throughout the whole 1930s must have felt after the war. Yeah it was still won, but if Churchill and De Gaulle(although not the hugest fan of his) were running their respective countries in 1937-1938 they would have gone on the offensive and invaded Germany when they were not prepared at all to fight a defensive war against those 2 powers. The Poles, Jews and Czechs would have been saved, and the Nazis deposed in a year, and tens of millions of lives saved. Of course hindsight is 20/20, and I'm not begrudging leaders for not wanting a repeat of WW1, but they should have known it was going to be much worse than WW1 if they didn't act. Germany broke every promise made in the treaty of Versailles, they broke their promise on Czechoslovakia, and broke their promise on Poland yet they still appeased Hitler by not attacking and letting him build up a nigh invincible army...Thank you to the Greatest Generation for bailing us out and adverting disaster at the hands of the most wicked evil the World has possibly seen. As a young man graced with freedom I'll be eternally grateful to those who made the greatest sacrifice

My grandfather was pulled from his unit before Dday to work on another military project. After the war he then went on to become a ranch hand, rodeo clown, professional bull rider, served on the New Mexico State Supreme Court and acquired his pilots license. I always considered him to be the real life Forrest Gump.

The other military project was to build and construct a special research facility now known as Los Alamos National Laboratories. (Should sound familiar to those that watched Oppenheimer). He even was able to witness the trinity test. His name was William Hendley, died June 2nd 2011.

Interesting how decades on, the Japanese and Germans still have a stain on their national histories, however the Italians really don’t carry that association with WW2 evil like their allies did.

We don't need no Disney hero singing about how we can overcome the odds with the power of friendship.
We just watch THIS and say, "This is what makes a hero. We go to the battlefield and die for our country."
That's what soldiers are here for. But America will live forever! Which means WE will live forever!
