Link's Awakening DX actually does have Green Rupees, they're in a hidden room inside the color dungeon where instead of being worth 1 like usual, I think they made them worth 5

Lack of heart and rupee drops took me a while to understand when I first played BotW, every classic Zelda overwhelms you with both and rupees are rarely necessary. I slowly started leaning on food and trading and eventually got used to that. I was at least a dozen hours in before I found my first wild rupee under a rock, having been totally convinced they just never spawn in the world up to that point.
They are definitely more common in TotK, as are the Blupees. I only remember the one outside Cotera's fountain before, but have found at least half a dozen randomly now.
