Shamrock is the most humbled fighter i have ever seen, the end game talk was crazy, he kept his word and gave gracie a better fight the second time.

The best match of the first ufc event. It was back and forth, unlike most of the others fights that night which looked more like street brawls. This one showed way more technique and expertice from both competitors

that was the beginning of watching shamrock get owned for his entire career. the roids didn't help

I've seen a few Royce fights where he maintains the submission long after the opponent taps, in one case appearing to break a guys arm after he tapped multiple times on Royce himself. I can understand why after watching this fight again. I'm glad Ken insisted on stopping the fight rather than just carrying on after Royce released his hold.

Every time I see Gracie do that forward lunge at his opponent and I think to myself why doesn't somebody just kick him in the head?

That entire night the ref had no idea wtf he was doing. Someone could have literary killed someone in there and he wouldnt have stopped it, its like for each fight both fighters needed to agree to end the fight as he would ask for both fighters consent...whether conscious or not
