Like Star Trek Voyager's Capt. Janeway, I am a coffee hound and would self-destruct within 24 hours without a cup. Even though I live in sunny California, I'd be incapable of relying solely on solar power for my daily fix. I'm so reliant on coffee that in addition to coffee beans, I always have various coffee reserves on hand such as refrigerated and shelf-stable cold-brewed concentrate and even freeze-dried instant espresso (also useful for baking). You too might consider keeping options on hand and cold-brew is very refreshing during the summer months. Your garden and kitchen are lovely. Thanks for sharing.

I fully understand you: not easy to have phone conversation when it’s not your mother tongue. I still have some apprehensions here in the Netherlands, even after all these years, although I have no problems in face-to-face conversations.

We have two cherry trees in our tiny garden… and birds are the first to eat them. But it’s ok, I love birds 😂❤

Is your plum tree a Mirabelle tree (it looks like…)? It’s my favourite fruit (along with figs and apricots) but they are very rare to find in the Netherlands. In 15 years, I bought a few kilos only twice.
