I wish I could have seen you perform it in person but I was able to see a touring production in English this year!

As someone who lives in australia, 'slime tutorials' are my real only access to broadway. I loved how hamilton was filmed and put on a streaming service, slime tuts are really why i love theatre.

I actually learned about these from matpat and his recent video and now that I'm getting into theater, this does seem like a shame that musical theater seems so out of reach to so many. I can't help but watch these as I just don't have the means and I don't feel bad about it.

Hamilton is extremely popular and it also coincidentally has an official live video recording you can easily watch, what i’m saying is more broadway / musical productions should look into officially posting their shows to stream sites, it could bring in major popularity and income.

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with recording a little for memories to look back on and i’ll admit i’ve watched slime tutorials but like it is rude to the performers when u shamelessly record their stuff illegally as it’s rlly distracting and seen as disrespectful

when i watch illegal concert streamings they sometimes call it “how to bake the perfect bread” 😭😭

Are 'slime tutorials' still called slime tutorials? i feel like i havent seen anything new in a long long time (but i just look on YT)

As much as slime tutorials are a no-no in the theatre world, my broke ass has no other way of enjoying "live" theatre performances besides what is posted online. As you said, theater is currently so inaccessible besides the rare pro-shots. Slime tutorials have introduced me to shows I would have never heard of otherwise and through that meant that I was able to show support in other ways via social media, official posts etc.

I literally just got into some musicals fandoms about a month ago, and the only one I had a chance to see was SIX, but others I had to watch the slime tutorials. If I ever get a chance, I’d go to something professional but as of now, there’s not too much 😢. I literally missed Wicked too when it came to near where I live.

If it wasn’t for the slime tutorial, i wouldn’t have known how awesome Frozen at Broadway has always been. The best part was i ended up purchasing the tickets for the front row stalls not just once but TWICE! 😂❤

i appreciate slime tutorials because there's no official dvd or footage which I would pay to watch, I can't afford to fly across the world to go see NYC broadway, and unfortunately slime tutorials are all I'm left with. For example, I would pay anything to see an official release of Heathers with Ryan and Barrett but there is no such thing :/ As a theatre actor though, it does suck to see someone illegally filming you

I think slime tutorials are the next best thing to those people who cannot afford or didn't get the chance to see a broadway musical. Personally i wanna see more plays but sadly, there's no proshots of such and if a musical IS available, its on a form of a movie (and its not bad, some are bad after watching the play). I wanna see the theater magic on stage.

Speaking of choosing to belt a note when it’s traditionally sung straight and “pretty”, my absolute number one time that happens is Katie Hall’s note on “tears of hate” in Phantom of the Opera for the final lair scene, just blew my ass out of the water tbh. Also never watching the original west side story- I didn’t know the last note of something’s coming was falsetto, and I heard Darren Criss’s version on glee where he belts the last note, so I assumed it went that way and got disappointed hearing the original

Confession: The reason I got into most of my favorite musicals was because of slime tutorials.

The way you described slime tutorials was really amazing! While yes it is completely illegal and actors don't like it, it also opens the very closed world of theater to a massive audience. As many others have said, I wouldn't be a broadway fan if not for slime tutorials! While I will never film one I appreciate the people who do, this allows me to see plays I would have never gotten to see before!

I know Lin Manuel Miranda used to say that he didn't like slimes because he thought that if people had easy access to shows they wouldn't want to see it live. But after Hamilton I think he changed his mind of that because ticket sales boomed after the Disney release.
