I just want to clarify that these “theories” these creationist scientists have are not real theories. Real scientific theories have undergone significant research and are widely accepted by the scientific community.

My sister in law who lived in the US for several years, says it is because they are a nation of children who need God so they can abdicate responsibility.

my uncle is a republican evangelist (divorced from my aunt) and lives in america. he still sees his children every week. i live in britain and every time my cousins come to visit, they’ve been more brainwashed. last time the 9 year old said that abortion is murdering children and that women who have it are evil. it’s just shocking and really, really gross.

I can't imagine being so detached from reality that I actually think that telling teenagers to remain abstinent is a good method to prevent teenage pregnancy. Do you think the people that tell them that have thought of what it was like to be a teenager going through puberty? I doubt it.

The worst of it always comes off as this bizarre mix of first-world material decadence and bigoted tribalism. I'm in awe of it, in a negative way.

I think one of the main reasons for people still hanging on to this is the decline of the family in general. That nucleus of the community has eroded in the last 50 years and so people look for other social groups. And that is what religion is, a social group based on a belief that has been outdated for a long time. In the end, it will be up to society how it evolves. And looking at what happens with technology, I think there is only one logical conclusion. Cause as strange as it may sound, we have been working on our own eradication since we invented industrialism. No one freeze life into one single moment, it will always change.
