Jordan talks about Carl's intellectual limitations!!!!
Jung's is way above Jordan's head,
it is not wise to try assess the limits of great minds if you are not the top of them. Jordan is reaally good and fantastic, but not even close to Carl's brilliance.

It’s too bad that Peterson didn’t focus on helping individuals through his therapeutic practice but instead decided to dumb himself down to become a popular figure and writer and political player in the conservative movement. He was on the right track and left that tract.

Jung wasnt only building psychology to address people with psychological problem. But he was mapping the psyche and putting things to its proper places as a guide to those who will walk the path as a close semblance to what he walked on and have a best chance not only a passerby but also addresses the things his concerns about... like the herd mentality of people that they may realize they are pushed to a cliff not they are already flying off the cliff.

Neurosis.... during Jung's time? Negative feelings was not a big issue! Since people can not afford to have personal issue to what they need to do complete their task to be able to meet their necessities. No child will have a negative feelings when they get told that they will be given something real negative feelings they can wallow on... Like having no meals for a day or 2 to go with it that negative feelings!

Neurosis... only common on spoilt child, who often get jealous and vindictive if they ddnt get what they wanted! Its a harsh world... getting negative feelings should be a staple diet for people so that they can keep regulating and readjusting themselves = Great selfcontrol!

I don’t think everyone is right.. we all have our own problems
Going so deep Inside is not that healthy and make you loose your senses about the world.
I can be by myself and happy without anyone and it doesn’t mean I am better it’s because I conquered my demons about being alone and being scared
It’s all about facing your fears
And trusting in God or life or the universe
An often mental disease is also being too much in one’s head as a nurse the most cases of schizophrenia or neurosis or psychosis was on people with PHD
An imbalance ..
Anyways I don’t hold the truth and no one
Not even Jung as he was speculating and making hypothesis from his work and no one hold the truth except God or the universe or whoever created us all..

We can't say that Jung or Einstein or Newton were wrong, scientists are always wrong and always right! Science evolves "one wrong at a time".

I just heard carls jung book about symbolism and is rather sad how the author uses his eastern philosophy as a major point of view to give interpretations. Is like he is trying lure readers and trying to influenced them to his “ secret” knowledge. The fact is that God speaks trough dreams and demonic activities also can give you dreams. Gods dreams is to confirm, revealed the truth of the gospel and even future events. Demonic dreams are to lure you into eastern or esoteric knowledge or philosophy which means away from the gospel of Jesus Christ. They also give you nightmares to perturbe you in your sleep and awaken state. Of curse much of the world would not believe this and try to find a more comprehensible explanation due to their lack of understanding of this very real things which they ultimately brush as fables and therefore have no option but to look for “alternative” “point of view”. I am not contradicting his work for I do believe there is a true psychological value to all of this but I would warn readers to understand that the Bible is real and the spiritual realm is very influential to this material world and if you open up to the wrong influenced your life could be conducted into a negative episode. Im just adding more knowledge to readers and the possible cause of its dreams and to let them know that not every dream is psychological or fro the psyche but from the spiritual realm.

Wow, what an amazing insight! You mean if you have a fulfilling romantic relationship, close friends and family and an active social life, a good diet and gainful employment and you’re not impoverished or sick or too injured to exercise and you don’t drink yourself into a stupor….If those conditions are met, then you won’t be prone to depression or nihilistic thoughts.

This guy is a FOR REALZ genius. I can’t believe he’s giving wisdom tid bits away for free when therapy costs like $200 / hr.

Please don't take seriously the narrow interpretation of Peterson about the hero archetype

It is just better to read Jung than to listen to Peterson talk about him. Jordan has a kind of
narrow personal contemporary type of interpretation about Jung, it can be very misleading frequently

Jung wrote more the depth realities of the psyche than about specific more superficial artifacts of modern societies, after reading Jung directly you will see this are manifestation of the deep archetypes and have a better grasp of what he really meant

My gran was the role model you describe. Yet she was deeply unhappy, deeply mistreated and if I hadn't written her funeral speech, my uncle would have just said she was splitted and unfeeling. He s not better.

She cared a lot about reputation. Was the most organized person, always cleaning everything.

Everyone dumped everything on her, including me all the time.

Not much of an internal life anymore.

Extremely perfectionist and controlled.

Extremely hurt by cruel people.

My uncle said that he wanted her to see the world in color, not in black and white.

I said that I hope she gets an afterlife when she can play and feel less heaviness.

People turn you into a carpet on the autel of christianity or being a role model if you start shouldering responsability alone all the time.

Our era is skewed toward everyone is right, everyone is valid.

Everyone is discourses and not much deeds but what is the correct action in the face of inertia?

If you cant test, prove or duplicate it. Its all pseudos ience and individual thought contstructs. There are no archetypes, but only in the mind when someone tells you to see the archetypes. If you go to an Indian psychologist he will say something very different. There is also no collective unconscious. So all the complex blabbering of Jung is detailing something that didnt exist in the first place. Not saying it cant be helpful to people. Religion is the same to me.

Jung new exactly that if he didn’t socialize enough he would lose his mind, that’s why he would purposefully go out with people and spend time with his family event if it wasn’t what he would rather do, he still did it. It was probably in the book called dreams memories and reflections where he said this.

One thing is the person as an individual with certain psychological characteristics, another thing are the theories and analyzes that he makes on certain psychological issues, if we do not understand the difference we are facing a fallacy, at hominen where the individual is judged, and not the argument presented.

Peterson is not qualified in any way to lend us a perspective on Carl Jung, a man whose fearlessness, clear sight and intuitive understanding of humanity has never been surpassed. I have gained more knowledge of the human condition and consciousness from a few books of Jung's than any other source. Additionally, Jung was well aware and spoke on the fact that personality types were not fixed or static, rather that they were fluid and could change throughout one's life. Sir, your arrogance is astonishing.
