Brilliant, simple fixes, huge improvement...! love the serviceability of the vintage gear, they don’t build them like that anymore. Thanks for sharing.

Hey man curious where can you find instructions on "Pulse Mod" ? I have searched high and low for that particular mod. I also own an old Roland Sh-09 : )

i cant fix keyboard tuning and responsiveness (btw with an external controller it sounds perfectly.. so its just a mechanical issue due to the metals contacts behind the keys)

The ADSR of my SH09 is brokken, so I only get the "hold" function to have sound & control of the sound...

Nice work - this'll come in handy when I finally get round to sorting mine out, it has really scratchy sliders after being out of use for too long. Been meaning to do the VCF CV in mod - the noise mod looks good as well.

Nice vid, I've got one of these beauties.
Keep thinking about modding it
I've also got one of your MIDI thru boxes!

The clean freak in me was looking at the slider holes and I'd have gotten in there with a tooth brush to get rid of the crud as well. I'd have also properly ripped apart the keybed to clean it and whatever was underneath. I'm surprised you didn't do the ole peroxide trick with the yellowed keys.

Whenever I get an old synth I always give it a good 'bath' so to speak and clean it up. The techier stuff I leave for my actual tech, but then he doesn't have to deal with fuzz balls and the like when fixing anything that's wonky.

Brilliant video for a beginner! Held my hand all the way. My problem still persists though. The portamento is just on constantly. I’ve dismantled and cleaned the potentiometer thoroughly and it still doesn’t work. The only thing I didn’t do was apply the grease. Do I need a completely new slider or is there something further I can do? Thanks again, vid was a massive help!

Great video! My sh-09 is visually almost mint, inside too. BUT there is no sound from the VCO and sub, unfortunately. Only clicking sound when triggering, and some occasional noise bursts, and a rare blip, when pressing keys rapidly. The noise generator works and external input is ok, a bit unstable quality, sometimes more noisy and lower volume. Any idea where to begin?

hey bud, I just got an ms10 and some of the pots are noisy as hell. the guy I got it from said he'd cleaned it up, there was still contact cleaner on the outside of all the pots, but still a fair amount of crackle and noise. the keyboard is also a bit noisy. I am completely useless at repairing things. do you ever look at or service other peoples gear? im down in wicklow., so only a few hours away from you. cheers .
