LG G5 In 2020! (Still Worth It?) (Review)

RIP LG, this one of the greatest and innovative phone ever. It only LG focused on this design and keeps improving it, be consistent and widen the target market, imagine they can come up with a Modular gaming phone and would be the sickest phone ever, how cool is it.

I have an LG G5 and I've had it since 8th grade, graduated in 2020 and for the longest time my phone switches on and off, heats up and does it until the battery dies. Not to mention it does that when trying to hook up to my internet.

i need one for gaming. this is still good for mobile legends.

I used to have a LG stylo 2 plus it was THE best but the battery port got bent it stopped working but I got a I phone 8 plus that broke now I’m getting a G5

This I think was one of the only phones that you record using front and back camera at the same time. I can't find any phone these days that has this from the manufacturer only apps that hardly ever work

Its insane to how far opinions on this phone on this phone differ. The battery slide mechanism makes me feel like a badass reloading a pistol.

My g5 overheats and its really hot i dont know how to fix it

I would disagree with some points of your video.
1.The battery life was good (atleast for me) for almost 2 years.I play games and still i didn't have to charge the phone till evening.
But after 2.5 years it started to degrade though.
2.I love the place of the battery.It's very easy to remove than normal phone,just like the ones you said(backside removal)
3.It's a very strong phone.I've dropped it like 50 times and yet nothing has happened to it.
4.It's been 4 years since I bought this phone and I'm still loving it but I had to replace the battery though.
5.Personally I feel that overall it is a very good phone with decent battery life,very good camera and it's still very fast even after 4 years

Berry thin and the battery comes out the thing like a pc plus u can game on the tv using ps4 controller or Xbox 1 who knows the ps5 controller may work the little lg is a big monster in a small body. Its perfect and has no problem

No mention of the attachments? This is literally the reason they have designed the battery mechanism that way....

This phone can go F itself. LED notification light doesn't work properly with third party apps. LG was aware of this issue years ago, never got fixed.

How exacly is the removable battery a dumb design? It's both a unibody AND it has a removable battery. How is that dumb?

Best phone for minecraft and cod mobile. Plus you can setup games with a lower resolution in the power saver options for the performance sakes.

You can also upgrade the battery to 5700mah battery via aliexpress for $15. So it will last all day with no problems. What makes this phone very unique it has all 3 - a headphone jack, microSD Card, and a removable battery with decent specs (SD820 with Adreno 530 GPU which can run most games on high graphics). Its the best removable battery smartphone I found in 2021. Hope this helps.

Worst design to remove a battery? It was the best way to remove a battery. Just like my gun. I loved this phone.

A lot if posts seem to suggest poor battery life yet supposedly standby time is 15 days and call time 20 hours which I wouldn't have thought was all that bad.

I've had this phone for 6 years. Never had a problem with the battery. I have 4 batteries. I have a case that charges the extra batteries. It comes with a hard plastic case for an extra battery. Just having extra batteries charged and ready to go was awesome. Too many apps came with it tho. December 2022

The sliding battery was due to the modules they tried pushing but didn't gain enough interest, it wasn't just them trying to be weird or different

I have a S22U as my actual phone. But for the at home phone i prefer having this G5 for the IR blaster, headphone jack, removable battery, and nostalgic feel. I have 2 of them they work very well as a universal tv remote!

Still using this phone to this day. Works great. Droped it like 20 times and works fine :)

I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that LG was planning to release a whole ecosystem of mods for this phone. That was the whole reason for the battery being set up the way it was.

Own LG G5...since 2017 Unlocked...Yes battery is really SMALL for all this phone can do....Heck the Camara along...if feauture packed straight out the box....Own an LG G7thinq and G8thinq...As far as camara options....and yes though the 5G pictures aren't as sharp /clear as the G7 or G8....there are so many things G5 does that nieghter can touch..Pop out pic, flim rear and front togother on film or capture in picture and the list GOES ON....til use my G5 for pictures when feeling creative....That's a Fact...

This was the phone I wanted so bad back in the day. The sliding battery was really cool, especially with the “add ons” you could have including an improved sound system.

LG wasn't afraid of being different, now things are dull and stale.

Been in the market for one since I found out they have a 200ohm audio driver(equals higher amperage and sound capability....assuming I interpreted correctly)
