I live in Santa Barbara. Funny thing is that tourists exist ONLY along two streets, a "T" if you will, (Cabrillo and State). It's pretty much a confined area. All the really amazing places here are NEVER seen by tourists. Places hidden, and you have to know how to find them (tourists never do). I don't know, maybe that's a good thing?

The coastal ride and Beach is best in the sunset.

The Old Mission is my favorite, though I might be biased. That's where my parents got married 46 years ago this upcoming august.
