I can't think of a company that has no real competition. Like there are so many guitars, there is not just one that is the epitome of guitars in terms of branding. I think Zildjian is the only cymbal out there as simply the best.

There’s a lot of great cymbals out there but zildjian is by far my number one go to. Always has been. Thanks guys for such an amazing product. Custom K darks have probably been some of my favorites.

When we were teenagers, doing our first Metallica cover band at 14 and 15 years old, I remember my brother (our drummer) got his first set of A-Zildjians for Christmas... My parent's went all-out and got him a whole set of gorgeous cymbals. I remember him being ecstatic even though he didn't get much else that year (they were EXPENSIVE).
Altogether there was a 16" thin crash, 18" crash, a 22" ping ride, an 18" china-trash, and 14" "new beat" hi-hats.... Up until this point, we had been using some old beat up Pearl kit with Paiste cymbals the other guitar player had.., they were like, his dad's kit from the 70s or some damn thing... The other brand cymbals were beat all to hell, played to death whatever they were (I cant recall now, Paiste or Sabian, they were beat and they sucked ass). Anyhow, he puts these golden wheels of metal on their stands, and we counted off to play "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and I remember just being completely AMAZED at how just giving the drummer new cymbals totally elevated and dramatically improved the sound of the band. We kicked that songs ass!... then we played the whole friggin album, Fight Fire all the way through to Kthulu...(probably skipped one or two we didn't know but we weren't even keeping track, totally lost in this awesome jam session) I still have the portion with Fade to Black and Creeping Death on VHS in the attic somewhere. I watch it every 5 years to remember how friggin old I am. (we're all in our 40s with kids now)

When they say "nothing sounds like Zildjians", they aren't kdding....nothing does... there are other brands that have super-premium stuff that's "meh OK" but they arent gonna stand up to Zildjian cymbals. They rule.... and I say that as a guitar player. They are the "Marshall JCM super-lead" or the "59 Les Paul Custom" of cymbals... you just gotta have them.

P.S. How about Omar's groove?? Damn, you could fall into that pocket its so deep.

I am lucky to have played Zildjian cymbals... and being a MA resident, I have had the factory tour at least three times... for which I am forever grateful...

I am sorry but this lady doesn't read correctly even her surname, it's not zilcan, it's zilciyan / zilchiyan means in Turkish son of a bell maker. I can't also agree her opinions that an İstanbul armanian needs to flee from Turkey. We have thousands of them even today in Istanbul. It was eastern armanians(Like kardashian family) whom are problematic not Western. His grandfather probably looked for a change for his business. Also this family goes bankrupt and borrow money from the Turkic sultan to survive and in returns son of the family tried to assassinate unsuccessfully and fled the country which bases the Massachusetts zilciyan family. She is not a good liar. Just check the wiki page about the family and the firm. Armanian people should stop blaming Turks. It's not real and it's very ugly.

Given the metals are SAC (Sn / Ag / Cu / (Tin / Silver / Copper), it is going be an eutectic alloy, i.e forms a super uniform alloy.
