I have folders as well, proceeds to pull out the OTF lol. I get it, you meant pocket knife.
ОтветитьThats such a rad story about your little brother having the knife professionally sharpened. 🤙🏽
ОтветитьSorry but Guber knive’s are crap 💩 they dull quickly! They don’t hold an edge. I’m obviously not a bad azz Navy seal but I am a veteran meat cutter if that matters work a fook 🤷🏻♂️
ОтветитьNo knife will cut rebar
ОтветитьAin’t no way you are cutting through rebar with that knife or any knife. That’s ridiculous. Loved the rest of the video though.
Ответитьno "cold steel recon 1"?
Ответить0149 in the morning...no drugs...no alcohol....just laying next to the wife....great vid bud.
Ответитьnothing run of the mill about cold steel blades some of the better hand tools for the price that 1' pays
ОтветитьI think you forgot you map placement. Yosemite is a 8h drive to norcal.
ОтветитьToxoma. Tacoma stinks
ОтветитьWith all that weight the Navy guys carry with them each ounce of a weight is crucial. I think if you have to choose between the knife and 2 additional mags of .223 then it is obvious that you will choose the mags
Ответитьthe 1 knife is a copy of the V42 the devil brigade knife
ОтветитьMall Ninja 🥷
ОтветитьThat bayonet story was the best part of the video
ОтветитьSay what you will, fixing bayonets is gangsta as FUCK
ОтветитьI'd think a breacher would have a better way to cut rebar than a damn knife and sledge... a little det cord or battery powered angle grinder, anything other than a knife lol
ОтветитьLove his reaction to the Renfair
ОтветитьThat bayonette story was Awesome!
ОтветитьHi ya dorr, on the m7 have a couple i put custom edges on and they came up great hold a very sharp and wicked edges...
ОтветитьAny Microtech knives?
ОтветитьKnife fight this
ОтветитьAnybody know what the little Gerbers called?
ОтветитьWait a minute Frog Boy.. No US NAVY MK4.....Hmmm.
ОтветитьI'll Always Love All my Weapons.
ОтветитьYo, does anyone know why the Navy choose the SRK in carbon steel for BUD/S? It doesn’t make sense to me because I know for fact that knife will rust a ton as a dive knife. I get it the military has a budget and it’s durable enough knife, but why carbon steel?
ОтветитьDo you remember the steel the SRK was that you were issued or what year? I have been collecting the SRK's! Good video! TIA! Thanks for your service!
ОтветитьMy favorite knife is the bench made 119 sibert arvensis
ОтветитьThat table was like “DAMN MAN WHATD I DO TO YOU?!”
ОтветитьYes cold steel is my go to!!!
ОтветитьI am not a fan of serrated blades BUT..
The Gerber Strongarm or their Prodigy has the best serrations I've ever used. They are super easy to keep sharp and don't get snagged. Most serrations on knives suck in my opinion.
Dude! That is NOT a Sykes Fairbairn knock off. It is a replica of the famous V-42 specifically designed during WWII for the Devil's Brigade.
The Devil's Brigade was originated in July of 1942. Under the official title 1st Special Service Force, American and Canadian soldiers were combined together to form a special task force trained for battle behind enemy lines. The origin of many special units can be traced back to this special force. Due to numerous nocturnal operations where all faces were blackened for camouflage, the German Wehrmacht invented their nickname Black Devils, which bore witness of the great respect they had for their enemy even though the unit was relatively small. In 1943 and 1944, the 1st SSF successfully completed many operations in Italy and France and was able to influence a multitude of important situations. An important piece of equipment of the Devil's Brigade was the specially designed V-42 combat knife which was also part of the intensive close combat training. The handle of compressed leather discs ends in a pointed impact cap. A thick leather padding underneath the slightly curved pommel had to prevent injuries. The two-edged blade made of the non-stainless carbon steel SK-85 is coated and features a corrugated thumb resting around the area of the Ricasso. To this day the crest of the Special Forces of the US Army adorns this legendary dagger.
That's a crappy knife collection. They are all just junk off the shelf knives. And the fact that he is a Navy Seal has nothing to do with anything. You are just name dropping which is incredibly cringey.
ОтветитьIt's purpose built and does what it does... ☠
ОтветитьDorr, get some new shirts.
ОтветитьThank you Brotha! On Spot @ all times/ saved a heck of alot of lives! Gave hope to even more! Risked it ALL! PRAISE FATHER GOD For You! & that Helo! J
ОтветитьVery down to earth/laid back approach to special forces blade carry! Thank You, J
ОтветитьI dont know alot about knives: "This ones made of valarium unobtanium steel"
Me: ...
Learn to sharpen u own knife a dull knife is useless
ОтветитьNORD sheaths were issued at the end of WWII with the USN MKII. All kabars made after WWII are reproductions. The MKII knifes and sheaths issued all the way up to the 1990s were from WWII. KABAR, CAMILLUS, and Roberson were the manufacturers and the early models were peened 3/4" pomels, late war were pinned 1/4" pommels. The handles were also different from the repro. The knife you got from your buddy was not an issued knife.
ОтветитьIve handled KBars from the Vietnam war era, as well as KBars from the late eighties and nineties era. I think there is a difference in the quality of the old time KBars vs KBars of the eighties onwards. The KBars in the old days were made of a high carbon steel that really holds and edge well and are resharpened easily. The downside is that high carbon steel rusts easily so you have to keep oil on it. My basic attitude about knives is if they are not high carbon steel blades, I dont want it. The exception would be if I was using it underwater a lot or doing EOD duty...you want a stainless steel knife or a non magnetic knife for EOD duty.
ОтветитьLove this guy. “Fix bayonets” you might be Patton reincarnated. God bless buddy.
ОтветитьDude don't down play that story. Even though you didn't shive someone... You still got to "fix bayonets"! Lol
ОтветитьThe brass knuckles knife is pretty cool
ОтветитьThanks for sharing!
ОтветитьNice video, thanks for taking the time to pass along the information. I have either that same Gerber or one like it on my work vest, amazing how many times it gets used. That and a moderately equipted Swiss Army pocket knife is all that was needed.
ОтветитьHi Dorr did you ever check out a MACV SOG knife. by BarkRiver? Was wondering about your opinion of that knife.
Ответитьmmm...🤔I have a doubt, because "elmax" is a type of steel.
ОтветитьI love the Ka-bar in your collection Dorr.
ОтветитьEchoing what some others have affirmed regarding the First Edge; ELMAX is the steel type, a stainless powder "clean steel" with a relatively high carbon content (which could theoretically deem it harder than the softer varieties found in rebar). 5150, while it is a relatively tough spring steel, has a much lower carbon content, and by way of First Edge knives is actually the model number of the knife in question. Anyways, thanks for sharing! If you like the old school KaBar, and ever want to drop a pretty penny on a really awesome uograded version of the knife, KaBar recently commissioned another outstanding veteren owned company, Spartan Blades in N.C., to remake their iconic fighting knife using MagnaCut steel, one of the latest-greatest advancements in knife steel metallurgy; a super tough stainless with great hardness for longer edge holding properties...
