Can you do a video on a core capsule wardrobe and the pieces you would put in it to build more outfits?

What did you do with the blazer? I would try the 18WP from Talbots.

You look marvelous in that indigo jacket from Talbots. That jacket can take you anywhere! I say “WOW!!! SIZE DOWN.” You’re going to be smaller soon and you’ll get so much use from it.

The double breasted is flattering. The sleeves are a tad too long. Maybe one size down would be the way to go.

Hello Cathy & thank you for your interesting videos.
I think you’ve tried on a few items on this video that you don’t really “love” & you seem to want to settle for them. I say don’t just settle, especially if they are to be “investment” pieces. Just wait till you find what you really love. I am saying this from my own experiences. Things I’ve settle on do t really get the wear they deserve.
I think I understand what you are trying to achieve. I understand that your size is limited & so less choice. But you will find enough great things as you go along if you’re also patient IMO.
So what I’m talking about is the blazers that you were not perfectly happy with the fit. The cardi that you felt was a bit too short, etc. I agree & see the fit is just NQR on those things. So please don’t buy a blazer unless you are 100% happy or at least 99% as you will always feel that way about it. A nicely fitting cardi is a great alternative & fashionable for most occasions. I have some really great blazers myself but I never seem to find the right occasion to wear them. Most of my occasions are more casual.
It’s a positive step to lose some weight if you want to. I am trying to but mine is happening very slowly 👎🏻
I too agree about choosing limited colours & just love my navy. I used to stick with black. I think you should consider expanding your colour selection to 3 or 4 & include a light & a bright that all go together. I’ve learnt that outfits really only go together when you include light colours too in your mix. Anyway, just a few thoughts to consider. I have just subscribed so look forward to seeing more of your journey & learning things from you.

This is Paula Goins-Walters. I would try a size smaller in the Talbott's blazer. Looks so nice on you. So many are buying smaller sizes in double breasted blazers and wearing them open. I may try that? The jumpsuit is awesome on you too! You are doing a great job with your weight loss! Keep it up! You look terrific!

Double breasted is not always good for some.. that may be why your not loving the Jacket.

I like the Banana Rebublic Sweater Jacket on you better than the Double Breasted Jacket. If you're looking for a more dressier look , I would look for a Single Breasted Jacket and maybe change the buttons to silver ones if that's a detail you like. I think the Talbots Jacket looks too large through the body but there's always the option of getting it tailored if it's something you love. The jumpsuit looks great and very chic on you, especially with your haircut. I'm sold on the jumpsuit!

Hi Cathy, I’m fairly new here. Here’s my opinion: The navy blazer is a NO! It doesn’t fit you and if you’re losing weight, it’s just going to get bigger, besides, the sleeves are too long. I would definitely wait for the Spanks blazer, you’ll have lost more weight and probably get better use out of it. Also, I agree with the “ you wear too much black and navy. It doesn’t do that much for hiding your weight or making you look slimmer, and I really can’t see any details because the fabric is dark. But when you put on that adorable pink shirt, your face lit up, your hair glissened and you just looked beautiful! It looked like the fabric was a bit thicker and the style was more streamlined, it just looked great! Plus we could really see how it fit & it fit well! l love those Talbots pants on you, they are very flattering to you, and the shoes go with it perfectly. The pink shirt looks very nice on you. The double breasted blazer, yes, size down, and unfortunately the buttons draw attention to the place you prefer not to, but, can you change the buttons to a dark blue, because that shape on you looks very nice. The sleeves would fit better too in a smaller size. The v-neck top looks nice on you. The jumpsuit looks so nice, it so versatile to dress up or down. Good haul!

Great haul Kathy! I have had struggles with Talbots blouse or blouse type tops. The backs fit you very well the white/navy, pink, and the double breasted blazer. The fronts don’t seem to fit and look tight. As the pink one is knit and looks 3/4 sleeves, I would order it in 1x and 2x if you are ordering 2 xp. I think the 1x may work for you. The white/navy blouse I would send back as the regular sleeves will be too long. I like the Talbots blazer the best on you. The back fits perfect! Have the front taken in. It is exactly the right length for you. I think the Banana Republic blazers does not do anything for you. It is too small buttoned, and lengths are too long in body and sleeves. Wear the Talbots Blazer instead. I thought the blue sweater was tight, but 3xp will be too big. You may want to try 1 x and cuff the sleeves.

The jumpsuit is perfect! It is too wide of a neck for me, but you look awesome in it!

Talbots short sleeve sweater looks GREAT on you. Maybe the buttons on the shoulder help with your face, and I can really see your weight loss in your face and neck! You are beaming, the sweater and pants are very flattering on you!

Our body types are way different (I am almost 5’ 10”), but I have committed to buying better quality pieces for my wardrobe and getting rid of the crap. I think the Talbots blazer is too big in the middle section. If you decide to keep it, I would suggest having it tailored (taken in) in the middle section. You have worked so hard to lose weight, if your clothing is to big, people won't see your success. Otherwise it is a nice blazer and definately something I see you wearing.

That navy blazer is YOU! The fit is perfect, very elegant mixing blue with black top & pants! KEEPER! Jumpsuit is perfection, too.

I think you look great in the cardigan with the striped shirt - better than the blazer. That said, I like the Talbots blazer (shorter) looks nicer on you than the longer Banana Republic blazer.

I love Talbots but my experience if you don’t buy them as soon as they come out, you can’t get your size when they’re on sale - very frustrating!

I like the shoes, blouses, blazers, pants and jumpsuit. I don't buy from Talbots as we don't have one in Sudbury and am tired of returning things online. My neighbour used to order from them and the items were very classy looking and she would get a lot of wear out of the items because of the quality which probably worked out to be cheaper per wear than a less expensive item.

I shop at Talbot’s. As a retired teacher, I don’t need as many clothes as I used to. Love seeing the clothes on a regular-sized women. The models are attractive, but I’m not a 5’10” size 2 person so the clothes hang differently on my 5’5” size 14. ❤

Cathy, the Talbots blazer is so cute on you it’s cut shorter for a shorter body looks tailored and young on you . The other blazer is cut too long for your body type . Keep the Talbots blazer looks and fits more youthful . Even the sleeve length is good . As far as your tops you have same problem I do the shoulders fit but thru the stomach and hip they are a little snug. But you are losing weight so in no time that area will fit you well. You look great! ❤

On the Talbots blazer, if you sized down, and went to the Plus, yes you would need to have the sleeves hemmed, but you would get the little bit of extra length like you have with the Banana Republic blazer. It would also give you a deeper V in the front of the blazer above the buttons to be able to show off the pop of color from the shirt underneath. They both look great, but I would definitely at least size down on the Talbots blazer.

The jumpsuit is perfect. When choosing your sweater and jacket don’t compare them to each other. Decide with each one if you wants it.

Most of the time people wear blazers open. The sleeves would look much better if they were shorter. Pushing them up some would make a positive difference.
