ОтветитьAs much as I absolutely adore talking about Beyblades at length, this one ended up being way longer than I had expected, sorry about that...
Now for the most hyped-up Beyblade in the Chouzetsu series (As well as the possible main villain's Bey), Revive Phoenix.
People sure expected a lot from this Bey, and I think it lives up to the expectations without being ground-breakingly powerful (Even though the name doesn't make much sense).
As usual, starting from the layer:
Revive Phoenix
There's way too much to talk about with this layer... I like it, though.
The Revive Phoenix layer features an oval shape with two distinct contact points on the outer rim. This layer's special feature, as well as one of its Chouzetsu abilities, is that the outer layer can disconnect from the inner layer if the Beyblade takes a strong enough hit, protecting it from bursting (Keep in mind that the outer layer only unlocks after the whole Bey loses one click). This outer layer is called the Revive Armour and the Chouzetsu ability's name is Burst Revive (Again, doesn't make sense, the Bey didn't even burst in the first place). The other ability, Immortal Defence simply means that the Beyblade is much harder (But not impossible) to burst while the Revive Armour is connected (This should have actually been the name of the whole ability in my opinion).
While the Revive Armour is connected, the layer weighs an astounding 23 grams making it the heaviest layer so far which is something I didn't expect from seeing the images before the release (Despite how huge the layer is it didn't seem to have much metal), but the inner layer contains a metal ring inside it, certainly to give it some stamina after the Armour disconnected; That actually means the inner layer weighs in at around 14 grams.
About the inner layer; It has a very round shape that is very good at deflecting attacks (It reminds me of Sol Blaze somewhat). The inner layer's shape, along with the very strong teeth may make it seem like it would be nigh-impossible to burst, but that isn't the case at all against other Chouzetsu Beys; If you launch it without the Revive Armour, it will most certainly burst, the reason for that is the metal ring around it. For reasons I will not explain without being asked to, having a lot of weight close to the perimeter of a Beyblade makes it easier to burst.
Overall, the strategy with this Beyblade is to make your opponent waste a lot of power on removing the armour before winning through a spin finish with an inner layer that is good a deflecting damage and has considerable stamina. Unlike most other Defence and Stamina type Beyblades, it doesn't hurt too much to launch this one with a lot of power. If the Revive Armour ends up on the stadium, leave it inside the stadium.
One last thing, I'm not sure if TT fixed this or not for the official release, but the Silver Wing version had a slight problem that made the first click kinda weak if you didn't set the Beyblade up correctly; I don't remember how to do it, but, when I find out, I'll make sure to leave a comment.
Ten (10)
The 10. core disk is a disk which features ten solid feathers on its circumference. It weighs almost as much as the Zero (0) and Seven (7) disks (The difference is less than a gram), and, like Zero, it has most of its weight focused on the centre (Unlike Seven which has its weight more on the outside). This helps the Beyblade maintain its balance even at lower spin conditions and increases burst resistance. Like Zero, I also suspect it will have less stamina than Seven.*
Friction
The Friction driver features a ball tip (There are a lot of those) made of PolyOxyMethylene (POM), an industrial-grade plastic that reduces the Friction the plastic has with another surface. With Beyblades, this increases stamina whilst decreasing Knock-Out resistance (The Bey slides a lot more easily) which is why this Driver also features a rubber ring around the ball tip. The ring is meant to grip onto the ridge of the stadium and, since rubber is a material with a lot of Friction, at least attempt to stop the Beyblade from getting knocked out.
Overall, Friction seems good, but I have my doubts about its defensive capabilities; Unlike the Coat Sharp performance tip from Metal Fight, the rubber ring seems to be a little too high up to have an effect when the Beyblade is closer to the centre and stopping the Beyblade when its close to the ridge seems to be already too late against some of the faster attack types. With Revive Phoenix specifically, I don't think it will be much of a problem since the inner layer isn't very easy to push around, but I'll remain skeptical, (But hopeful).
POM degradates a lot in hot water, so take good care of your driver. Even water at room temperature can affect it.
TL;DR:
There really is no TL;DR for the layer, it's really complex...
Ten seems like a good disk; it weighs a lot and is very balanced
Friction seems good, but I have my doubts.
