Dark Souls: Gwyn, Lord of Cinder Final Boss Fight and Ending (4K 60fps)

One thing I've learned is that the world of dark souls seems like it shouldn't have existed.

It was a universe of stone and it somehow got heat and this guy built it with fire and war. It seems that if the universe stayed constant, stayed stone and lifeless, there'd be no pain.

shoutout to this man for using the lightning spear when gwyn has over 1700 resistance to lightning (he has 354 physical resistance for comparison)

I like how he goes fully catatonic for a few seconds after an attack, it shows that even a god is no differe t than all the rest of the hollows, like in undead burg.

I ended up here accidentally, i knew it was something big after offering those souls but parried him to death on 2nd run. It was the easiest boss and i was left in shock when i respawned y'all know where..

That shield is just for decorations

I just beat this guy. I really love the lore and story implications, and him being the only boss you’re able to parry honestly makes a lot of sense. Dark Souls is an amazing game

I’m not here to brag, but I literally just beat this game (on the remastered version) for the first time and I killed this boss first try and I’m somewhat confused because it was so easy

I did have 15 estus +1 and a uchigatana +15 at SL71, but I feel Gwyn was way too easy and that I got lucky or something

So what exactly happened in the ending? I’ve heard something about the age of fire ending

To be a Lord of Cinder means to be shadow of your former self. The fight and the music perfectly reflects that. Gwyn's power now is literally akin to ember trying to stay alight long after the source of the power has gone out. I also noticed how there are subtle pauses towards the end of the music piece as well a slight decrease in pace. That further signifies Gwyn's power fading. The level of detail FromSoft gave is truly incredible.

I like how everyone in the comment section talks about how weak Gwyn has gotten and that he was made weak intentionally, whole Miyazaki himself said that Gwyn was supposed to be the ultimate challenge at the end of the game.

Imo he still is one of the hardest bosses in the game if you don't party him
