Panther (1995) is a cinematic adaptation of Melvin Van Peebles's novel Panther, portraying the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense and tracing the organization from its founding through its decline in a compressed timeframe. It was the first narrative feature-film to depict the Black Panther Party. Angela plays Betty Shabazz, the widow of Malcolm X, as she is invited to speak with members of the Black Panther Party after his death. This is her second depiction of Betty Shabazz.
