That thumb looks like more like Pseudomonas from water getting trapped under the lifted part ( so bacterial rather than fungal)

so are you using regular polish on top of it? What type of clear base coat?

Guys greenies are NOT mold.
Mold would be fungus, but greenies come from bacteria that lives on the skin anyway but can spread more easily in moist areas (ie where there’s lifting).

thank you so much...I've had acrylics for about a year now and just knocked a nail off that was lifting...and I panicked... (likely my own fault I had previously re- Stuck a lifted nail and had a fill after..the re stick was very well stuck on) I'm in the middle of a shift at work but I'll remove all of them once I get home.. you're video really calmed my panic

I’ve currently got a client nails not done by me. She wants me to remove what she has. The nails are lifted off the skin the gel is extremely thick and she says she’s seen a green tinge and black spots on her natural nails last time to other person removed it. Very scary I’m not sure how to proceed

The only thing I use on my bare nail before doing gel dip whatever, is a Hema free base coat. I do not use primers dehydrators or any of that because it causes green nails for me! I normally don’t have any lifting problems, rarely and I do my nails more often than I should probably! But I do give a rest. I have a couple days were my nails can just breathe with nothing on them but anabiotic cream.
👍 Great video!

I was wondering if you ever encounter anyone has maybe cancer on their nail beds or any other issues with peoples nails?

Thank you for this video! I tried a new press-on brand and it had been only a week and I started to see something green under my nail. I has a bit of lifting and i had my hands in a lot of water from cooking on multiple occasions. I removed the nail immediately and the green has started to fade already. Thankfully it wasn't too server but this was my first time ever experiencing this. Your video was very informative, thank you for sharing your experience!

Thank you for posting this! I got the greenies on two lifting nails on vacation and freaked out! Yesterday one pharmacist told me it was bruising and another told me it was fungus and I needed a doctor to remove my whole nail. I spent so much money on antifungal creams and medication. It’s a relief I found this video today🥲

Use tea tree with coconut oil as a daily cuticle moisturizer, and don’t put on polish so the oil can penetrate. You won’t have to wait for it to grow out. The tincture will kill the spores overtime. Got foot fungus?, mix olive oil, tea tree, jojoba oil, and water and spray it in your shoes or socks until everything goes away. You shower at the gym? Lotion your feet with tea tree in coconut and Shea butter and you’ll never get athletes foot. But only use tea tree if you’re not allergic.

Thank you!!! I have some sort of infection as well. I am a cosmetologist and I have never seen anything like this. I have consulted 2 MD’s and one dermatologist and they have no recommendations as my skin was also infected both appearing to be fungal based on what I read online. They said fungal infections are so rare that it wasn’t worth testing. 2 separate drs told me this including one I trusted explicitly. Dermatologist said hyper keratosis. It’s been a year and I still get tiny brown dots occurring on my hands and feet, what looks like athletes foot and similar skin on my hands as well as black fungi-looking micro fibers that are almost invisible to the naked eye. I’ve never needed glasses luckily and I can see them just fine but 50/50 consensus on whether or not I’m “just seeing dust trapped in the dry skin surrounding my nails [cuticles and nearby areas] or it’s related to my initially thin and seemingly still infected nails. They’re brittle, toenails are thick and separating from my nail beds. Anybody care to weigh in? I’ll try anything I’ll give any opinions a serious consideration at this point.

Some other question... I have a client and her nails started to lift from the nailbed, starting from the free edge... she had some splinter bleeds onderneath and a discoloration on her nail bed. I asked if she maybe has psoriasis.. she has indeed... but only on her ellbows and knees. We decided to take off the coating and she went to a doctor who said it is psoriasis.. Now she really dont like the look of these nails but as Psoriasis nails can also catch pseudonomas very quicly I dont want her to walk with a coating on for 2+ weeks without knowing what is happening underneath.

Is a nail varnish an option? or what would you do in this case?

So I just had this happen to me. I had really bad lifting on three of my nails and when I went to get them done two of them had green. One wasn’t that bad it’s barely noticeable but another one was pretty bad. So my nail tech said that they wouldn’t recommend putting anything on those two nails because they don’t want to be responsible in case an infection started. They also gave me an oil to help with the green. But you put stuff on your green nails so idk if I can put something on them or should I keep them the way they are?

I have a question for anyone who might know the answer. I’m a new nail tech, my client has a little dot of green on her nail, I used my nail prep and dehydrator on it and I was wondering if I should use different dehydration and prep so I don’t spread it to anyone? Sorry if it doesn’t make much sence but I’d like to know!
