THIS is Why Josei Anime is Unpopular

As someone who watched more shoujo/josei as a teen and CRAVES good Josei now as an adult, I would say a good candidate for Josei anime is either Natsuyuki Rendevous or Sakamichi no Apollon. If you haven't seen these already, you're in for a treat.

Otona Joshi no Anime Time and Love is Hard For an Otaku are short but I liked them alot as well.

The only josei i get is the ones in the smut genre.

It's true that it's kinda hard to describe the genre! I was shocked when I found out osomatsu San is a josei series , I really thought it was seinen, because it's about problems of adult male characters haha

So shounen is for young boysm Seinen for adult men?
Shojo for young girls?
And Josen for adult women?

Anime is weird for outsiders trying to dip their toes into it :0

Thanks for your thoughts. Josei is my favorite demographic of anime and manga. The art direction for many titles is very avantgarde. I especially like horror.

A lot of josei are also only read online especially those from kodansha.

the only josei anime ive heard of are chihayafuru, shirakuma cafe and honey and clover

josei manga is waste of money. women doesn't like to read mangas or watching animes without their boyfriends. it's also the lowest in the hierarchy.
