Really nice, does remind me of Horsepower Productions and El-b. Impressive bassline work. It's a nice kick drum sound to, works will, short, punchy and a good strong pitch envelope; gels well. Similar with snare type sound, nice and sinusey, lives up almost with the hats, where it should for this style. The other side of UK bass music that's really interesting to me is the very high-end, the hat programming. To overall get the sound even more in the pocket of the 2-step / UK garage / dubtep there's a couple of things you can experiment with. One is make them sharper / more lo-fi. Saturation, filtering, bit rate / sample rate reduction. Then I think you can really exagerate the accents to really bring out the exagerated swing. That UK sound goes even further with that pushy accent of the hats than classic house. Basically you want it to swing between hissing like an angry cat on the accent, but really just whispering off the accent. Lots of shuffle and micro-timing. Something like 9/10 force on the accent, only 1-3, off the accent. Or even tracks like Horsepower Productions - What We Do, mostly you just hear the accented hat, but there's some subtle background hats and low-level mangled hat loop samples. The effect is a more spacious and danceable sound. Really lets the PA breath, so it can punch harder. A good early reference track is something like Ghost - 'The Club' for accents or 'Hesitation' for hat texture/tone
