Recording lots of stuff is such good advice for everyone, not just people with a family member terminally ill.
My family never was big on videos/recording things, and then when my father died I had this realization that I could not hear his voice ever again, as we didn't have videos or recordings. And it was really sad. We have photos and stuff, just no video. And it's not even like we never took any videos of anything ever -- we did, but stuff gets lost, stuff gets thrown out, destroyed, not preserved, people move homes, people get new phones, etc. etc.. It just doesn't really accumulate. And if it's someone who is not terminally ill, who you aren't expecting to die, you don't think of it. You don't think "Oh, you are going to die and I would love to be able to have those memories recorded in sound and moving picture." It's just not something you realize or think about until someone dies, and then it is too late. Really it is good advice. You might not be a big social media person or something and not have lots of this stuff, but then will realize when it is too late that you wish you had it.
