Reddit and Other Dental School Forums are Dangerous For Pre Dental Students

Thanks for posting this vid, ever since I took the DAT and got a good score and have officially applied to all the schools I want to attend, there’s been this constant thought of “is my score actually good enough, is my gpa actually good enough, and am I even good enough?” It’s like, come on, just chill, you know you have good stats, just stop comparing to these like you said people with 24+ that are just gloating

I took my DAT 2 weeks ago and got AA 22. To be honest, I am very happy about it because my goal was just to reach the average score and not retake. My friend was happy for me, and she was like why not post it on social media, but I did not want to. Because I personally feel like it makes me feel dumb to post an average score on social media. So, I believe there are so many people out there just like me. I think most people just don't feel necessary to post their "average score."

Thank you for this!! I have been rolling my eyes at people complaining about scores of 20+ or people only posting their 20+ and asking “is this good enough for dental school🥺🥺🥺”

Thanks Eli. I really needed this, the DAT has been the only thing holding me back from reapplying and I’ve been so anxious to retake it. No matter my new score, I can’t wait to come back here one day and say that I finally made it into dental school for my persistence. God Bless 🙏🏾

Thanks for this! I’m currently majoring in religion and I am a 3rd year college student. I want to do dentistry so I still need to take my pre reqs. But yeah I agee! Online forums just in general are filled with bitter people. I always follow this mantra on when it comes to online forums, the happiest people won’t post online because they’re too bust enjoying life! Negativity attracts negativity. It likes company.
