Online English Teacher Joe

Hi, my name is Joe. I'm a native English teacher from the United States. My interests are Online education and business and I also enjoy playing basketball during my free time.
Qualification & Experience
I have a degree in business administration from Texas State University. I've been teaching English for 10 years and online since 2012. Since then I have had the pleasure to teach students from all over the world and learned a lot about their amazing culture and customs. I also have experience designing, creating and publishing online English courses
Teaching approach
Teaching is my passion and I find it to be a very rewarding experience. During the first lesson with a student I carefully listen to their language objectives and plan future lessons based on specific needs. I look for specific weaknesses students have in order to help them in an efficient way.
After I have identified the areas of opportunities I design tailored lessons for each student and create a special course in Canvas (a learning management system platform) where students can access interactive exercises such as quizzes, watch videos, practice listening activities and writing.
My classes are very dynamic and fun: During the live lesson I focus on getting my students to speak and reach fluency by discussing real world topics such as traveling & culture, entertainment, world news, technology and any special interests that my students may have such as technical vocabulary in any field.
