😢 why they kill the dog

Great movie & it (resonated with me on many levels.) I learned that the agressor can suffer an "injustice" indefinitely; like the victim (or perhaps ) it is KARMA!! It appears that both will continue to watch their back understanding someone stands ready to "hunt them down" without warning nor provacation. My perpatrator served no time as my mother was forewarned (not to prosecute) or I would be hurt even more! The police did file a report: however, no JUSTICE could be served as my mother was fearful. As a victim, I can state with certainty, that the memory of this (horrendous assault) lives with me after 64 years & will only dissipate when I am buried & gone. The only EMPATHY I entertain is why me; I was going to the store for someone to make some change to help pay for my lunch money while attending elementary school many years ago!🎉

He served his time they better leave him alone.

Damn, the dog had absolutely nothing to do with it, they should’ve had it in the movie where the killer of the dog was arrested, like at the end of the movie right before it goes off.

I have mixed feelings about this. Yes he did his time and was getting help, but he also did irreversible damage to numerous women and i can see how Triggering it'd be for the woman who lived next door to him. People do deserve a second chance on somethings such as drug arrest, traffic violations, justifiable homicide but rape, child molestation and serial murder? I don't know if that's something that can just be forgiven.

Sorry folks, I can forgive a thief, robbery, drug and alcohol addiction, and other things that people do because of desperate times, a man is losing everything, he steals money, but hurting a child, an innocent animal who depends on us for care, or an unsuspecting, innocent woman?, you are not human anymore in my book. Period!!! Also, after seeing his dog lying there, I say, being an animal lover, widower at forty three, never had kids, my animals are my children, I take better care of them then you can imagine. I have every vet bill to prove it. Lol, animals have been my entire family's love for generations, and I am a long time member and supporter of the humane society, as well as two other charities, cancer and children's hospital, and fortunately, I can afford it, but even everyone who knows and loves me in my town in Florida and knows I help everyone who truly wants help, thinks I am crazy when I showed them what I send each charity each month for over ten years now. Cancer, one grand, children and animals, because they need us, twenty five hundred per month, and they don't take advantage of my extreme generosity, like a lot of people have. Anyway, killing the man's dog is a sick act and like a sicko child molester or sicko rapist's acts, killing his dog was sick because the dog didn't do anything wrong. Someone taking him and caring for him is one way to get even and do what we know the sicko who killed him was trying to do, hurt the guy where it would hurt most, but killing an innocent, loving dog? Come on!

Well them killing the dog was pretty rotten. Not the dogs fault.

Imagine instead of giving eli a cute little pupper to make him seem likable, the writers had written that eli had harmed or killed a dog to gain access to one of his victims. I feel the conversation around eli and his crimes would be radically different

False accusers should be put in prison for as long as the person they falsely accuse spends time in prison.

This had the potential to be a good movie, but the screen writing was too ridiculous to have any credibility.

Eh the movie was OK but wish it had a different ending I understand how it might feel for the town but at the same time I wish the main character had more time to show change time to earn a little forgiveness but remain cautious but not so severe
